• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Couple questions about this......

1. Can I lock the doors while the car is on?

2. Can I lock the doors while the car is on WHILE there’s people in the back seats? I tried with the app and it didn’t work...It started honking at me

Kinda super disappointed that it doesn’t have auto start on the fob....has anyone added this feature to their fob yet?

You could try ... I know you can lock a key in it using the other fob to lock it with when it's not running but have never tried it when running. 2. Turn off the Rear Occupancy Alert in the menus.

I was unable to lock the doors while it was on using the outside button or the key fob.

This car has turned out to be so inconvenient when it comes to technology 😔

Wish I could do the same as well. 95 degrees and running into gas station, Wanted to keep it Ice cold for when I came back haha. First world problems.

Exactly why I was asking! I live in Texas and it’s 100+ everyday where I live...def 1st world problems 🤦🏻‍♀️
Pitacast 14 - I have tried this as well since I live in Dallas and no luck. However, I am curious if immediately upon getting out if I could use the UVO app to lock the doors remotely. Only issue there is it takes like 2 minutes to perform the function but still going to try it at some point just as a proof of concept.

Can you lock the doors when you get out, and then use the app to immediately remote start it again? How long would that take?

Living in Phoenix I too am interested in this feature.

I did test this process a couple weeks ago as I wanted to see if I could leave my dog in the car with ac on. Yes, you can remote start immediately after exit with doors locked, making sure the back seat alert is turned off (took me a few minutes to figure that out while the alarm was honking, stressing out me and the dog - LOL) It only took a few seconds to remote start while I was standing next to the car. I think the max run time is 10 minutes though (I didn’t test the max time limit)

You should be able to lock the doors with the key fob while outside. If you leave a fob inside the vehicle (while not running), it won't let you lock the doors via inside or outside buttons - prevents you from accidentally locking your keys in the car.
It will however let you lock the doors with a key fob from the outside (even while having another fob inside). It's smart enough to know that if you lock with a fob from outside, even though there's a fob inside, you're not locking your keys inside.

So, using your fob will work even if you have another fob in the vehicle.

Have you tried this? 2 owners including myself on this thread have already tried with no luck.

It works on the Stinger as long as the engine is not running. Do it all the time when the wife wants to lock her purse in the trunk. She probably wouldn't be able to find the fob anymore in that cavernous purse she has...lol. But she leaves her purse with fob in the trunk, as we walk away from the vehicle..(10 ft or so) I hit the lock button on my fob and it locks her fob in the car. If you hit the door handle button, it just screams at you.

I suppose I should have clarified that my comments were with the engine off. I don't think I've tried to lock the doors with the engine running. I get beeped at when I step outside the vehicle with the engine running (and fob in my pocket).

It works exactly as I've described on my Sedona. I have not tried it on a Telluride. It would be odd if it didn't work the same way.

We appreciate your input. But as you don't own a Telluride and can't physically confirm, your information will just give people the wrong idea.

I have confirmed twice that while the engine is one you the driver and key holder cannot leave and lock the car with the fob or door handle.

I don’t have my telluride right now, but just read on Facebook you can leave the car on, exit vehicle, wait for the beep and lock through app(you probably can bring up the app while exiting and be able lock it by the time it’s ready-slowww haha). Will test tonight.

On my Mazda, I roll down the driver's side window, exit the car, then lock the car from the button on the driver door, then hit the Auto Up on the driver side window to close the window - while removing my arm quickly - and voila. I now have a locked car with the car running. Caveat - I have to unlock the car using the physical key. The fob doesn't work for some reason.

I don't know if this approach would work on the Telluride... still waiting on mine.

One other thing I want to mention. The gas door locks when the car is locked. I thought it jammed.

I've had a Sorento and now a Telluride, and I can confirm that if the engine is running then the vehicle will NOT lock. Very annoying for sure, as during -30 degree days, you don't want to turn the car off and then back on again as that's the worst for the engine, when you are out for 5 minutes.

First world problems indeed, but my old Ford and current Chevrolet allow me to lock the vehicles while they are still running.
