What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I just found this forum and I had no idea that you could actually get MSRP anywhere. I am prospectively buying an S AWD at a dealer near my home in northern VA. After talking to a lot of nearby dealers (some of which had nothing coming in) and hearing a lot of ridiculous markups, finding one that was only marked up $4k seemed like a good deal. But now I don't know. I have an S AWD (no add ons) reserved in dealer allocation, should be arriving within a month. Total advertised price with the markup is $42,275. I know this sounds like a terrible deal, but comparable vehicles with no markup are still more expensive. I'm looking at a Subaru Ascent Limited, which is basically the same as the S but with real leather and a panoramic sunroof, that has an MSRP of $44k. I don't think real leather and a panoramic sunroof are worth an extra $2k.

Unfortunately I need the car yesterday - I guess I should have ordered one when my wife was only 3 months pregnant. Does anyone know of a dealer in VA, PA, NJ, DE, or WV that will sell out of allocation for less than a $4k markup?

I'm from your area and in the same boat. Luckily a pre-order fell through on a Sangria S AWD from Sussman KIA in PA so wife and I drove up there yesterday to pick it up. They only (lol only a NoVA person would say this) charge $2k markup which is the best you can find within 4 hours of NoVA unless you pre-order MSRP and wait 6-8 months.

I placed an order for a 2022 Wolf Grey Kia Telluride SX + Nightfall here in Hawaii and have agreed to pay $60k. It takes 3-6 months to arrive. Would love to find a better deal than this anywhere. I head that the PNW offers these babies at MSRP or near that. Can anyone point me in the direction of one? Even if I pay for shipping to HI, it'll still be $2k. Better than $10k over MSRP. TYIA.
I would be glad to help you out. I live in California and I ordered mine from a dealership in Colorado at MSRP. I ordered 10/6/2021 and it should arrive in the next 2-4 weeks. Give me a call Kevin @ 408 482-6205.

Hey! Since my initial post, I’ve seen others saying Kia is no longer taking orders. I’m more worried about placing an order now that doesn’t get picked up at all v. waiting out my Telly with my unhelpful salesman. Which dealer did you go with?

Hello All,

I found this forum to be super helpful when I started my Telluride search a few days ago. I wanted to give back by providing some information to all the folks in the Tristate area (NY,NJ,PA) with the most updated information (as of 2/19/2022). This WILL save you guys some time and will overall summarize what my experience has been like in my search.

During my search I reached out to over 120+ dealerships within a 4-6Hr driving radius from NYC.

NYC - Don't bother looking in the 5 boroughs/Long Island, you will be faced with generally a 7-15k markup on these vehicles.

NJ - I want to give a shout out to Tito @ Sansone Kia (Woodbridge), he has been a straight shooter. They are selling incoming vehicles @MSRP but there is a mandatory package that comes to about 3k~ which includes a lo-jack device, interior protectant/warranty and VIN Etching with a 699 doc fee.

Upstate NY -
I decided to purchase my vehicle from Duchess Kia, ask for Joe Ossipo 845-462 - 7700 EXT 24 joesepho@dutchesscars.com. I put my deposit down on a Wolf Grey SXP Nightfall with 3k>MSRP from Joe. He is also a straight shooter and their doc fee is $222.50 and the specific vehicle had a lower MSRP which made sense for us since we didn't want the tow package/running board that was offered elsewhere.

PA - If you looking to place an order, give Ernie Kemper @ Sunbury Motors Kia a call. They have a relatively short list right now ~15-20 last I checked and they are taking orders @MSRP. I was quoted 6-8 months but jump on this as I believe orders will come in once the word is out.

The other dealers in the tristate areas that were previously mentioned here have been pretty saturated and orders are closer to 10-12 months. I decided to pay >MSRP to secure a 2022 model year because the released photos of the mid year refresh on the 2023 model did not appeal to me. I know there is a group of people here that would agree with me and I think once people realize this the new 2023 refresh people will scramble to snatch up the remaining 2022s. I would strongly recommend reaching out to Joe if you are interested, has another black on black SXP nightfall coming in. I hope this helps save you guys some time and my way of trying to give back to the community.

Wondering about expectations for price off msrp—my dealer is now taking orders but will only do it for msrp. Any ideas about negotiating price or expected rebates/incentives? Are other Kia models discounted much?
The Vehicle is in high demand, so MSRP may be the best you can do. But here in Phoenix the dealers are adding $4000-$5000 to the MSRP!

Just put in an order with a refundable $500 deposit at MSRP at Matthews Kia of Clay in Syracuse NY. They were super smooth to deal with. Hoping to save myself a trip to Muncie. 6-8 months is what they quoted me.

Anyone had any luck with dealers around the Tampa/St Pete area @ MSRP?

Did they require the purchase of a service contract at Matthew’s? That’s what they are doing at Matthew’s in Rochester

No. Unless they bait and switch me.

I hope not. Would have saved both them and us a lot of time if they had told us ahead of time as I made it clear on the phone and in person that I was interested in paying MSRP only.

Shopped around a little bit in Northern CA tarting in November. Most dealers were looking for $7500-$10K over MSRP. Folsom Kia had a $5k mark-up with no other extra fees. We ordered an EX which arrived in February. The rest of the experience was just fine. Around $55K OTD for an EX NFP with tow package. Have hunted through this page to find the interior accessories we wanted. Went with Tux Mat floor Mats and ordered the Telluride split cargo mat from Canada.

Ouch you got the shaft on that deal for an EX

Ordered an LX FWD on 11/24 for MSRP from Crain Kia of Fayetteville. I think they are no longer doing MSRP, but are going to honor what they quoted me, we shall see. With 4k towards the new one from the trade in we are looking at a little over 31k OTD

How do you know your KFOS was picked up? ordered on 11/24 and dealership knows absolutely nothing.

Thanks for sharing this info from your valuable research! What is the doc fee like for PA? I can wait so thinking of ordering one for MSRP. Are there any other fees they mentioned at sunbury Kia? Any idea how much to deliver if you don’t want to go in person to pickup?

Moritz Kia DFW March 2022
- 2022 SX with Nightfall/Towing/Prestige = 51,908 (MSRP + 898 in dealer adds) non-negotiable
- 6.25% sales tax and all the fees = 2,940.86 (we had a trade in, so that dropped the taxes 750 or so.
- Ext Warr =1,729 (1829 was the original quote)
Ordered it 7 months ago nothing down.

Doc fee is 422 at sunbury. Shipping depends on where you live, it was about 600$ to ship to me in New York city. There is the DMV fees and a couple of notary fees (20$~) to have the transaction done remotely.

Picked our SXP NF from Moritz Kia last month. Only thing we bought was the 100K EW with $100 deductible for $1640 with $0 deductible
You can cancel the EW and get if from Kia Muncie for $1669. I Put better darker window tint for $500 Including clear windshield UV film with a mobile company. Also locked up 2.29% for 72 2 After delivery After they quoted 4.9% in finance.

I had seen others report around 1670 or so, but our guy wasn't interested in going lower - good call on sourcing an alternate.
We had 1.99% for 60 months lined up through PenFed going in and 2.29 from BoA, but they matched it through CapitalOne so we took that.

Got ours at MSRP with dealer window tint $800. Already put better tint all around. Mortiz Kia Ft. Worth last week.
Were you able to get them to drop the carpet floor mats? I have one on order but they said the carpet floor mats were part of their dealer package. Any other tips or advice for dealing with Moritz? Jim has been super helpful to this point.

Thanks

Hi all, new to the forum. Had a question I was hoping to get some help with. I ordered an 2022 SX Limited (Canada) back in October and it arrived this week. But the dealer is now telling me that the interest rate we agreed to in the contract has increased by half a percent.

We made a point to discuss with the salesman at that time that the rate was locked and could only go down, not up. I obviously should have got something in writing but didn’t. That salesman has since left.

There isn’t anything on the contract that talks about interest rates but I’m not sure if I can even argue this? I wasn’t able to find much online.

Am I SOL? The dealer offered to cancel the deal in full but I would still like the car. Just feels like a matter of principal. Thanks for any help.
