I know it's cutting it close and going over weight, but has anyone towed a small sports car to the track? If so how was the experience?
I've towed a 911 for years to events and eventually bought an all aluminum trailer. Difference was 800lbs to 2200lbs.
I know it easy to tell someone to go out and buy a trailer for $$$ but if your really into the sport it's by far the best way to transport a car with an suv. Saves on wear and tear, gas, and the performance of your vehicle. I bought mine used, drove it around the Eastern US for 10 years and sold it for more than I paid used. The U haul ones are so heavy! Meant more for dedicated car haulers and trucks.
You're right, I was thinking of a Featherlite trailer with the shield, full floor, tire, rack, etc.Midsize Sportscar Trailer (CT-7551). close to the one I used. Mine actually weighed around 850lbs. They seemed to have gotten heavier
I wanted to tow my GTR to track days but I think that is out of the question due to the Telluride's capacity.
