No, didn’t try again. Still would like them off. Read here about a month ago someone successfully removed them to discover there was a void and they had to go to the dealer as replacement body parts were necessary. Cost for those? $700.Did you remove them? I hate them and want to remove mine also. So, I wanted to see if you had to plug any holes
Hey, checking in with family that works for KIA. He said if you have the black running boards, they are just bolt on, no additional parts needed. No, didn’t try again. Still would like them off. After you remove your OE ones you will need to replace them with new lower body panels.Looking at your pictures versus mine, these are totally different in their appearance. Mine came new OE with the vehicle 5/21.
Hardly seems worth it...thx for confirming though. After you remove your OE ones you will need to replace them with new lower body panels.
Hi all - we are looking to remove our OEM usa ones, and decided against putting others on. Having a hard time getting a straight answer about if / what exactly is needed to buy to have put back on once these are off. Any insight would be great![]()
Ugh its the us black/aluminum ones - googling and the panels are $600 ish EACH? Please tell me there is a cheaper aftermarket option? Are they solid black or black and aluminum? If they are solid black, nothing. If they are aluminum and black, you need to buy the outer rocker panel.
Thanks, that is helpful. Am I correct that the only ones are the kia oems at these prices, unless I find someone selling privately? Seems crazy for such a simple-ish part(s)Go to this thread on installation. Some of the pics show where the lower rocker panel comes off. There is also a link to a pdf for the installation procedure a little further down. That might help you remove your boards if you decide.

Well, I bought my TR-SXP last month but didn't have much time for put some accessories. After I did PPF from PDX Wraps, I put mud guards and side steps / running board today. Took me several hours!! Unfortunately, no. And I believe they also have to be painted. It is disappointing that they set them up that way. I didn’t want them, but they had installed them by the time I purchased. Guess I lucked out. Mine are just bolted on and can be removed with no additional parts needed.Ugh its the us black/aluminum ones - googling and the panels are $600 ish EACH? Please tell me there is a cheaper aftermarket option?I'm not coming up with anything really except the oem kia parts links from different sources.
