Order to delivery time

My backup dealer said I can expect my S AWD around July 4. They don’t have a VIN yet though. Would this most likely mean it was picked up in KFOS but yet to get a VIN? How can they have an estimated delivery date but no VIN?
Depends maybe they know something they aren’t sharing or they are basing the delivery based on prior run times. Once a vin is released it’s anywhere from 4-8 wks depending on location and transit problems

When your dealer can give you an exact ETA, most likely your order has already been picked up by Kia unless it was all BS from your dealer. I suggest you start monitoring Failcat for your trim allocated to your dealer.

I dont see how your guys dealers are telling u your order will be a 23 when my dealer told me today that kia told them there making 22 models all the way to october

So there is a S AWD same color and no floor mats in failcat from 5 days ago but she says they don’t have a VIN yet so I’m not sure if that would be it or not. She said she will follow up when she has a VIN.

Just heard from my dealer, 7/9/22 eta. Ordered 3/23/22. SX.

Just got my EXp this week! Ordered 1/20/22 and was given a 90 day estimate at that time. Around the 90 day mark, the dealer gave me the ETA of 5/18. Then 5/27. I am located in Indiana (not Muncie).

I received a call from Nutley that an order was canceled on Wednesday and if I would be willing to take an EX with Night Fall and Prestige in Copper Black. I originally placed an order in March for same specs in White. I agreed to take the cancelation. Sales rep did mention everyone waiting might have to come in and place a new order for a 2023. I recommend getting in touch with your sales person and seeing if you would fall in that category.

As far as 2023 goes, all they know are the different trims, they haven't received pricing info as of yet.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the update, but it doesn’t sound right to me. If your order has been picked up by Kia, it means Kia was ready to build and fulfill the order or it wouldn’t have been picked up. No cancellation would have occurred. If your order wasn’t picked up and stayed in the queue, the dealer should just modify your order to MY23. In such case, you are still in the queue and are not losing your spot. Simply cancelling customer’s ‘22 order doesn’t seem like a good business practice! I hope my dealer wouldn’t be doing the same.

I agree that if Kia has picked up the order, the order should be fulfilled. But if the order has not been picked up than chances are you have to re-order for a 23. According to the sales representative, with the trims being different, it's not apples to apples with nightfall and x-line. He thinks x-line may have additional features.

My suggestion would be to reach out to your dealer especially if your order has not been picked by Kia to see if they will require you to place a new order for a 23.I wound up getting my telluride only because I contacted my sales rep on Wednesday to get a update on my order since I was about to put a deposit with another dealership and pay markup for a September delivery.

I just wanted to let this group know what I was recently told.

That makes more sense. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, NOOOOOO!! I ordered from Gossett on 2/28.
My salesman is VERY short with me and the only thing I can get out of him is “6 MONTH ETA”.

I’m going to throw up because I need a new vehicle SO bad!

What did you order?
I just ordered mine from Gossett today. Gravity Gray SX w/ Towing. Put down the $1k down payment - a little nervous about this whole process! Did you get a VIN from the failcat website, or did Gossett send you updates? Thank you!

What is their deposit? I ordered with Moritz Ft Worth in March.
$500 deposit. Lower than a lot of the ones I talked to.

I got a text on Friday with the estimated dates in the Kia system for the steps in the process (body in, paint, trim, inspection, etc.). It shows an estimated dealer arrival of 6/27. How long are folks usually seeing from this point until it gets an official VIN on Failcat?

Looks like I got my VIN today. I’m waiting for the dealer to verify but would be a huge coincidence if someone else with a Dark Moss, EX P/N with grey interior (with floor mats) got a VIN at the same time I was expecting mine.

At any rate, ordered 2/11/22 and saw it on Failcat this morning 4/5/22. Ordered from Halleen, North Olmsted (Ohio/OH003). MSRP with a $500 refundable deposit. Was quoted 4-6 months when I ordered.
Talked with Halleen today and was told their markups are $3595 over MSRP. What the heck changed so drastically in less than 4 months?

Are you saying they are marking up your MSRP DEAL or are they now charging $3595 over MARP

Usually shows up day after the vehicle is painted. You should be able to see it in failcat now.

I ordered my SX on 2/26, and I was told the lead time would be 4-6 months. I called my dealer last week, but he said the order wasn't picked up yet so I couldn't get exact ETA. Does anyone who placed an order at similar time or later have ETA or the VIN number? Just curious about what's going on with my order...

Too many factors to answer your question. How many orders in front of you, dealers monthly allocation for your trim etc. Some people get it quickly, others 8 or 9 months. A lot if good information on this forum

I received the following email from my dealer sales rep today:

“We are tracking your order and wanted to let you know there’s been a change in the ETA (estimated).

After last week’s storms the railyard has to inspect all of the vehicles on their yard. Kia National is working closely with the transportation and inspection companies to make sure the vehicles are cleared and delivered to the dealership free of any issues/damage relating to the storms.

We have been informed by Kia and their transportation company that over 1,000 vehicles of all Makes and Models are being held at the railyard for inspection. The railyard is where vehicles are temporarily stored before transportation to the dealership via Semi-Truck. This is creating a bottleneck.

You are receiving this email because your vehicle is being held for inspection and therefore the ETA has been pushed back."

My original ETA was 6/26 so we will see what kind of delays this causes. Fingers crossed it doesn't push it back too much.

I put a deposit on an incoming SX a few weeks ago and yesterday texted about an ETA update (expected 6/26). Today Jeff at Scott Harvey Kia (NJ) called and told me it was being offloaded from the truck at the moment. I plan to pick it up on Sat. It was on Failcat with a 3/8/22 date.
