Order to delivery time

Ordered ours on 9/30/21 and were told 4-6 months WE bugged our salesperson, Chris, in February as we were planning a roadtrip in March and were hoping to do so in our new ride. Chris said it wasn't "picked up" yet Got a call March 12 that it was finally picked up and should be in end of May/early June WE called the dealer today for an update. Chris was off so we spoke to someone else. They said "Chris hasn't called you yet? It's in transit and should be here sometime this month" He gave us the VIN. I immediately checked the VIN on Failcat and saw it was created on 4/27 Not happy with Chris, but freaking FINALLY it will be here! Now to plan another roadtrip

I think I just figured out that when my dealer said I was 11th in line, they meant in the line for the specific trim I ordered. I didn't realize Dealers were alloted so many of each trim every month. Now it makes sense as to why I see so many higher trim levels fulfilled for them. If I had really thought it made such a difference I would have ordered an SX instead of an S, but at the time I ordered I didn't know you could turn off the automatic rear tailgate opening. They only get 2 or 3 S Trim a month so maybe I am looking at June or July for it to get picked up.

Has anyone recently order from Nutley Kia in NJ? I ordered on an EX N/P on 3/18 and still waiting for order to be picked up.

It went very smoothly. All financing and trade in deals were done on the phone a few days before the delivery date. Took about 45 min when we were there. Here is a picture of our telly on the day of pick up at kings kia.

One thing I would advise, think about what warranty (if any) that you would want to add on. Our lady tried to push them very hard. Good luck!

Beautiful! I'm jealous of how fast you got yours too! Nearby Jake Sweeney (Florence) is taking around 8 months to get orders in.

Ordered January 6. March 30th I was 133 in line. The dealer has since had 55 cars pop up on failcat and has received, consistently, month after month, at least 30 cars a month.

I called today and I'm 107 in line. Shouldn't I expect to be about 60 down and not just 27?

What am I missing? This is Luther Kia (MN014).

Ordered January 6. March 30th I was 133 in line. The dealer has since had 55 cars pop up on failcat and has received, consistently, month after month, at least 30 cars a month.

I called today and I'm 107 in line. Shouldn't I expect to be about 60 down and not just 27?

What am I missing? This is Luther Kia (MN014).

Part of the vehicles received is probably the monthly allotment from Kia and reserved for instant sales. Dealers make more money with ADM on available vehicles in the lots, despite they may still take orders for MSRP.

I ordered from the same dealer so I am tracking them specifically. This is what I have seen in Failcat for 2022.

I ordered in early Feb and was told ~300 in line. In April I was told ~195 in line. Clearly there were not >100 cars sold in that time frame so I was surprised to see that large of a drop. I plan to ask again where I am in line in June. Maybe they only update their count once KFOS opens and you only happened to have one window between asking?

Their is a lot that goes into that number. Yours is a custom order. you can't count all Tellys that go to your dealer. All Tellys are built differently. Thus Kia pulls out of KFOS in bunches not just by number you can go up or down. Kia also sends dealer allotment Tellys to your Dealer. No you will not see them on the lot. They sell them before they come off the truck. I hope this helps.

Aside from what other people have said. You are only competing against other people of your trim level when it comes to allotment. Check only the same trim level as you and see if that number more closely lines up.

That is nuts! When I placed the order I was told 6-9 months for EX and 9-12 months for SX. I was warned before placing the order, the EX may take up to 11 months! I was under the impression orders are picked up in KFOS in 1-3 months but that isn't the case either.

I hope it’s legit information! He said my order will be picked up by Kia in June, as I’m next in line. He wanted to make sure with the 2023 exterior/interior changes we wanted to still move forward. So here’s to hoping my order is actually picked up next month.

My backup dealer said I can expect my S AWD around July 4. They don’t have a VIN yet though. Would this most likely mean it was picked up in KFOS but yet to get a VIN? How can they have an estimated delivery date but no VIN?
