• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... CarPlay not working (but cord is charging phone)

Entering this thread. Having trouble with intermittent loss of USB connection to Apple Car Play on my iPhone. Came to this thread to see if this was an issue for others. Just read beato1's entry. Checked my settings and found USB Accessories was not turned on in Allow Access When Locked. I'm hoping that corrects the matter.

I agree with doing a UVO hard reset. Never experienced this issue with my 2021 Telluride.

Any update on this? Got into my car today and had the car tell me “phone not responding” when plugged into the apple car play. Took my phone (and same cable) over to hubbys truck and it worked with no problems. Same cord and same port since car was bought two weeks ago. Cord charges but no car play.

I recently encountered an issue slightly different to the OP, before performing the v16 software update.

The morning I drove the car, Carplay worked perfectly fine. In the afternoon when I started the car, I noticed no power going to the center USB data port and no Carplay. Power worked fine on the 12V and USB chargers to the left and right. The same cable would charge perfectly fine in the the right side USB port.

So I pressed the little reset button by the volume knob. As soon as I did this the USB data port worked perfectly fine again. For any issues with the center USB port, I would recommend to try the little reset button. It appears the power source for the center port is tied directly to the head unit.

Went in today for the 2nd time and they were supposed to switch out the USB port to see if that was the issue, but they didn’t. They opened a tech line ticket (they should’ve have done this 2 weeks ago), so now we wait, again. It’s pretty frustrating considering it’s a brand new car! I did the same thing…plugged my phone in with the same cord in 2 other cars and connected within 2 seconds, no problem. Hope they can figure this out asap!

I’m having the same issue, CarPlay either won’t connect or stay connected. I’ve had all the updates done, phone check, cabled checked multiple times and it all works in our other vehicle but not in my 2022 telluride. Mine also worked without any issues until about 3 months after purchase. I’ve been back and forth with Kia and dealership about the issue now since beginning of March. I finally got a new USB port installed, but I’m still having the same problem. A tech line has been opened since mid March and just going back and forth saying it’s a software problem. Since this all began, I’m now being told when I use my Bluetooth for a phone call the person on the other end can hear a loud banging noise. It’s so frustrating that my car isn’t even a year old, it’s not working like it should and just keep getting told it’s a “software problem.” 😡

Username checks out!

I did. The cord(s) are fine and all work….I even bought a new one to see if that would help (tested it in my wife’s car even), but it didn’t. The cords charge my phone when I plug it in, but CarPlay doesn’t connect. I think you’re correct on having to warranty out the USB port or the infotainment. It’s the weirdest thing!
Autocrat play function doesn't work anymore after the navi update. it needs to be activated manually every time you disconnect the cable. you have to go back to setting select CarPlay and tick the box an then connect your deivce in order for the car play icon to switch. then only you can select the CarPlay.

That is not normal behavior. After updating nav software you should only need to enable the option for Carplay once in the UVO settings. Not every time you disconnect your phone/cable.

The dealership did all of that (even with their personal phones). After 15 minutes, CarPlay didn’t work for their phones either. We deleted our devices from the list and restarted everything…still didn’t work.

Bad cord, happen to me multiple times. Change the cord and everything will be fine.

Nope…tried different cords (including a brand new Apple cord) STILL doesn’t work.

Found out last week there’s a new software that is supposed to work. My software wouldn’t download kept getting an error message. Now waiting to see what tech line suggestions are.

No recent update was done, but I’m thinking I might have to. Someone else suggested doing a factory reset on the UVO software…hoping that’ll work!
Did you ever find a solution? I’m having the same issue.

No solution yet, unfortunately. It will work from time to time and then stop working. It’s SUPER frustrating especially because it’s only a 2022!

For whatever it’s worth to the OP. I have a day old 2022 SX and had this same issue. The UVO hard reset (right of volume knob) seems to have fixed the problem for me.

The dealership did that as well and it still didn’t work 😭. They’re doing a software update today, so let’s see if that works!

Not sure if you’d be fixed it yet, but for me pressing the small button on the right side of the volume knob with a pen for 5 seconds resolved this issue

Still not fixed after we did the new update to the head unit…pressed the reset button multiple times throughout the process and doesn’t work.
