Order to delivery time

Just ordered Sx (wolf grey) on Saturday. I built the 2022 with Nightfall package and dealership took the order. So late in the game I am assuming I will get a 2023, but it doesn’t appear the Nightfall will be an option in 2023. Anyone have insight on what will happen? First time I have ever ordered a vehicle. By the way, I was able to get MSRP in South Bend IN. Other dealers were adding minimum $5k markup.
That’s crazy to me that they let you even order a 2022.. I asked my salesman last week and I didn’t make the cut for a 2022 but he stated he didn’t have any details on when I could redo my order for the 2023. My best bet is end of July.

Generally, vehicle manufacturers are far too slow to update their website configurators with new model year information. All the new features and prices will leak out to interested consumers, who will want to start making ordering and buying decisions, but they'll be stuck with only the outgoing model year in the "Build and Price" app.

But regardless of the time it takes to implement a whole new model year in the configurator, there is absolutely no excuse for failing to update a website with a short, simple disclaimer along these lines: "Factory orders for the 2022 model year have now closed. You can still use this tool to build your ideal Telluride [or whatever] for purchase from inventory. Watch for 2023 model year updates here soon."

If I can write that in one minute, there's no reason Kia can't too, and then post it.

From what I heard they are trying to move 1000's of vehicles and are moving the ones on the front first. The railroad yard is used for all the different manufacturers so your car might just be behind other cars which is why its taking a while. Luther is good dealer and did not find them to play any games at all. You will get your vehicle!
Yeah, I've purchased from the Luther network in the past and had a good experience. Just impatient. Tomorrow is 6/22. Fully expecting our date to be pushed back again. Oh well...nothing we can do about it but wait. The worst part though, is we had a rate lock on our loan for 60 days. That's going to expire very soon, and the interest rates are rising. That part will not make me very happy.

So I was told now that my order was picked up on the weekend of 6/13 but given an ETA of 10/21/22!!

The Nutley rep was even surprised and believes that the ETA may be a mistake. He thinks that the ETA will more likely be closer to August or September but that still seems a bit crazy.

Having the placed the order in December 2021 and waiting this long (while also giving them a $5k interest-free loan) is approaching ridiculous.

Yes you are right! I bought a Telluride back in March and got a 1.88 rate and my rate for this one in June was 3.4

I ordered my Telluride on 1/4/22 and was told on 6/13 that the ETA at the dealership would be 8/28. When I asked if this would be a 2022 or a 2023 I was told it will be a 2022. If the Kia plant will be switching over to 2023 by the end of June why would it take two months to get this delivered to the dealer here in MN? What am I missing?

I believe that the order system will be changing over in June. They still will have to manufacture the backlog of 2022's. From what I have read they won't start manufacturing the 2023 until October.

Plenty of deliveries are taking even longer than two months right now even if your car was finished by the end of June. There are shipping issues right now.

Dealer called last week said my car was finally allocated to them. ETA is not until end of Aug, is this normal? No VIN yet either.

Anyone have their vehicle “in transit to dealer” and still getting delays on their eta?

Yes. Mine was pushed back a week.

I got the same info from my dealer on 6/13 - ETA is 8/28, no VIN yet...

For those that have ordered and taken delivery, how long did it take from the time the car was marked as “tendered” (waiting for truck) to when the dealer received?

Got the call. Ordered 2/21 pick up on Tuesday. My backup dealership came through.

Welp....the fateful day has FINALLY arrived! Yesterday (6/24) after dinner we decided to drive by the dealership after hours just on a whim. And what to our wondering eyes had appeared? You guessed it.....the Grey Goose! Got official email today and was told it needs to go through dealer inspection and prep process and we will be able to grab it up on Monday. AND credit union confirmed our rate lock is good for several more weeks.

So that's great news!

But here's a question....there was another identical Gravity Grey Telly sitting next to ours. On the back in window chalk was written EST, PDR, INT, and DTS...or possibly PTS (sketchy penmanship). Each item had a checkmark next to it. Does anyone know what those letters mean?

PDR is worrisome to my "oh no...what if..." brain because it's a common acronym for Paintless Dent Repair. And as explained earlier, a big reason for delivery delays in the Minneapolis area the past month or so was because all vehicles had to be inspected for hail damage prior to release from the rail yard.

What is your rate?

That’s awesome. Lowest I can find is 2.99%.
