  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just watched the report regarding SUVs and their front sensor technology --- is something to be concerned about with the Telluride?
I watched the report and it is about the blind spot directly ahead of a vehicle.

I didn't see anything about SUV front sensor technology other than they said its an option on some vehicles and helps either with video or warnings.

Not sure what your concern with the telluride is......

I guess I was wondering how people felt about the front sensor, which I've encountered while driving. I don't really hear anything when parking or when going slowly ... figured that the front blind spot doesn't exactly make it obvious what's in front of the vehicle.

The most important thing for any driver to do is make sure no one is around their vehicle when they’re trying to drive away.

If a child is sitting directly in front of your car and out of your field of view, the only way you would be able to detect them would be with the front parking sensors and/or the front camera view of the surround view camera. Both of those are SX or up only.

The FCA (forward collision avoidance) system is on all Tellurides, but would be unhelpful in situations like this. It uses the front radar and the camera at the top of the windshield to detect potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians. But one of the requirements is you must be driving at least 5 mph. You would have already rolled over the child by then. Plus the child would likely be too close to be within view of the windshield camera, anyway.
