Can anyone confirm or deny if the "2020-2022 Kia Telluride part # S9F61AU060 - Tow Hitch Cover" trim piece that has the cutouts for the tow hitch and connector would fit a 2023 Telluride? Or are those trim areas different enough that it won't work?

Now let's reinstall everything and get the wiring secured. I used double sided tape on the back of the trailer harness and fixed it to the wall behind the D-pillar trim piece. Make sure it's out of the way of the jack! Then zip-tie up all the wiring above and below and reinstall the trim pieces.

Did you double face tape the module to the back of the plastic piece you called the D pillar? Or to the body of the vehicle?

There's not a great place to attach it. I did use double stick tape, and I tried to attach it as far back inside the D-Pillar as possible (basically below the rear taillight area). Not sure if it worked well or not. I haven't gone back in to check yet.

That's where I am, too. Haven't found a good place to attach it yet.

I also used double sided tape, but I put the module toward the front of the jack compartment and stuck it to the backside of the sloping plastic trim panel that goes over the wheel well. When putting the tape on the module, I put the tape on the top side that is flat so it would stick better than on the back side that has the tabs to attach to the metal mounting bracket. Another option I later discovered is to use the metal mounting bracket; see the post by Lucas Raybion in the FaceBook group "2023+ Kia Telluride Owners Group" for some great install tips and photos.

Has anyone installed the Stealth Hitch?

I originally went with the Stealth hitch but have since switched to the OEM hitch. With the stealth hitch I didn't care for the side to side play in the hitch when using it to carry my bike rack, which also sat lower than with the OEM hitch. Additionally, it was always an extra step to add and remove the hitch from the stealth hitch mount.

Did the Tow Hitch Harness Control Module shown with the double stick take on it come in the kit from Canada? The Canadian Hyndai parts site does not show an image of what is in the kit.

I saw this posted by another person on a Facebook forum. I’m not taking credit, just sharing the info as I found this likely to mirror the Kia directions when they finally release it. I might rework mine and do this; currently using the tape solution. You move a cable routing clamp in the jack area and it appears to position the module nicely under the trim. I believe the displaced cable is just pushed back behind the module.

Got my hitch from etrailer… fit perfectly!!! Now waiting on plug a play 4 pin harness!!!! probably middle of July they say!!! They have splice in ready to ship if ya only need 4 pin???

just trimmed out the notch to fit!!! There are good videos on the install that will help !!! The measurement that they recommend is not spot on …,Another blogger recommended 8.3/4 inches from each side of the panel an I believe that would be most accurate!!!I followed the instructions a the cut out kia a bit off… BUT unless u get on a knee an lol u won’t ever notice it!!!!

Last but not least - make the cutout for the wiring in the rear bumper trailer hitch trim panel. Based on where I mounted things - I cut a hole in the panel as shown below. The final install pics are also shown. It's not nearly as clean as the factory - but I think it looks pretty darned clean given that there is no factory solution right now.

Nice work Tyger. Fellow Austinite here. Just picked up the OEM hitch\receiver from Ancira Kia in San Antonio, and harness got here from Canada. (U.S. Customs cut open the box, and the interior packaging, and everything arrived loose. You'd think they would at least tape it back together. Annoying.I THINK all parts are still there, but I haven't installed yet. They did not find the heroin, though. ). The OEM hitch instructions say in big red scare letters "INSTALL HARNESS BEFORE INSTALLING HITCH". That sounds backwards to me, and I see you did not. Maybe the installed OEM hitch would interfere with cable routing? Do you, Tyger, or anyone else know why instructions say that and if it matters with an OEM hitch? Thanks again.

I took a different direction when mounting the 7-pin connector. I've been struggling with the cutouts that people need to make when installing the OEM receiver. I like that it rides up a little higher on the bumper. But those WIDE cuts you need to make to accommodate the safety chain hoops just really put me off. So, I decided to test another approach. Rather than getting (and paying for) an OEM receiver, I'm installing the Curt C13420 from eTrailer and mounting the connector flush, from behind the rear skid plate. I wanted to make sure the harness worked and fit before committing to non-OEM and, so, I installed the harness and connector first. Photos here of the result. Receiver goes on in the next few days.

Looks good! Keep in mind this will work for a traditional ebrake controller, but if you use something like an Echo the triple-axis, motion-sensing accelerometer may need to be level with the trailer.
