• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Trim levels. It's hard to tell what you get with each trim level.

I was looking at an SX. Then there is the SX Prestige, X-line, or X-pro. I then see that if I want a bench seat in the second row, I need to stick with an EX. What do all the different trim packages give me. I know leather seating starts with the EX and that the X-line and X-pro add the blacked out wheels and trim. What else am I missing with the EX, the SX and the SX Prestige?

Right now I have a '22 SX-Prestige, X-Line Sorento - fully loaded with everything. But it still lacks some neat features on the 2024 SX-Prestige Telluride, such as HUD, digital mirror, HDA2, and nappa leather seats. I am so used to all the good stuff that on my new Telly, I can't go back.

You need to go to the "build" website and then advance through each trim and look at the additional features. It is fun to do. Keep in mind, they have not yet posted the '24 model.

I used this to help narrow down what I was looking for, which trims had it.

It is harder now with the gazillion trims they have. Best way to look at it isn’t so much as trim levels, but trims with packages (e.g., SX and then the SX Prestige, or SX X-Line)

Similar to where we use to have an EX or you could get an EX w/Premium Package (adding some of the SX level stuff to the EX trim), or the SX trim or SX with Prestige Package.

It did seem easier before though in pre-2023 years.

Ok, I am starting to figure it out. I was finding the Kia website a little difficult to compare the different trims but I think I found the main differences I was looking for.

I am kind of bummed that the SX models only come with second row captains chairs. I kept thinking I was missing the choice to change it somewhere, but then realized that option doesn't exist.

Right -- although I am thinking it wouldn't be too difficult to find someone willing to swap out their benchseat for your captain's chairs. There are quite a few people who want the benchseat.

At a quick glance, the main options the SX seems to add
-(edited to add this) the 12.3" instrument cluster
-(edited again to include) memory driver's seat and mirrors
-dual sunroofs
-upgraded sound system
-changes the 2nd row bench to captains chairs (which I didn't want)
-homelink
-interior mood lighting
(I removed heated and ventilated front seats because that gets added with the EX trim)

The SX Prestige, in addition to the SX also adds
-nappa leather
-heated and ventilated second row
-heated steering wheel
-heads up display
-digital rearview mirror

I am sure I am missing a few things also. Decisions, decisions...

Don’t forget that the SX adds the 12.3” digital gauge cluster, 360° camera system (including blind spot view visible in the cluster), front parking sensors, and also HDA2 capability (more advanced, ability for lane change assist, etc).

I wanted to try and consider a fully loaded EX, so I could retain the bench seat, but it looks like I would be giving up too many other things I would want since you don't have the option to add much to each trim level.

What's the 360 camera system? I'm still trying to find that.

Surround view monitor. That’s the front and side camera system to allow you to have a 360° view, front view, side views, etc.

I just watched a youtube video on it to see how it works on the Telluride. Pretty cool.

This blog post from a Kia dealer in Florida really helped me put it all together. Keep in mind that it's 2023, but it really hasn't changed for 2024.

You've got this!

If you go on the Kia.com site you can compare models side by side.

What seems easy in theory is close to impossible in reality. I've been on this forum for over 3 years and I don't think I've encountered any poster that successfully accomplished this. I think the problem is virtually no buyer of a bench seat car would want to swap which is kind of understandable since that's probably the main reason they bought it that way.

Now I am trying to figure out the difference between the X-Line and the X-Pro. I see the wheels are different. What else am I missing?

This is what the $1000 extra for the X-Pro gets you over X-Line.

The X-Pro is touted as an off-road vehicle - more rugged tires along with the 0.4" increased height (the same as the X-Line). However, you should be aware that it only becomes "off-road" in a minimalistic sense. The X-Pro will get you in trouble if you venture too far off the beaten path. Look elsewhere for true off-road capability if you intend to run the Baja.
The increased tow weight is really not much - 500lbs better than other Tellys. They do this with a beefed up radiator cooling system.
The 110V inverter is a plus for campers.

Ok, thanks guys. No plans to go off road. And I also don't tow anything. So I can probably rule out the X-Pro.
