Hyundai Motor and Kia said on Thursday they are recalling more than 91,000 newer vehicles in the U.S. because of fire risks and urged owners to park outside and away from structures pending repairs.

ugh, im concerned. i went out last night and checked what i think is the oil pump and it was still too hot to touch almost 5 hours after driving it for only about 10 minutes??!! that doesnt seem right, and i have a trip to canada coming up in 3 weeks and im very concerned about that! ive only driven it on shorter trips. it only has 1100 miles on it..

Well the Telluride is not on the recall list. Remember oil gets hot and the pump lives in the engine bay which is hot.

all very true. i am just surprised how hot it gets in such a short trip. and then to be almost too hot to touch 5 hours later? that seems extreme to me. luckily im taking it in monday to have the brakes checked, so i will mention it then. hopefully thats just how it is, and wont be an issue when im in nowhere canada soon.. :/

Did you also put your hand on the alternator? On the engine block?
Engine heat HAS to dissipate somewhere.
