• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I think the homelink in our 2021 SX prestige came with a homelink mirror circa 2009: 4112a-0bihl4. FCC-ID: NZLRZLHL4 I don't think it works with Chamberlain security+ 2.0 that came out in 2011 (also called yellow learn button). It has been frustrating. But thought I'd throw it out there for anyone else looking. Hopefully dealer will replace it under warranty.

I had initial learning issues. Took a while to figure it out.
watch this

I don't think that it is it, but I am listening. It learns the older, pre-2011 (aka chamberlain purple learn button) remotes just fine. Also it makes sense, in that how could a 2009 homelink work with a new system that came out in 2011?

I replaced a garage door opener last year with all the wifi and phone apps and had to do what was shown in the video to reprogram it. I'm sure it had the newest homelink on it . Yes, I had to climb the ladder to push the stupid button, but it work.

What do the numbers say on the back of your homelink mirror? Do you have the 0bihl4?

It's the 2020 that I had reprogrammed and I'm a few hundred miles away from it so I can't give you a better answer than that. I'm going to assume that it's a 20 and yours is a 21 that they should be the same.

Thanks, but I don't feel that is a safe assumption.

I am going to try and program mine later today. I will reports back with the part number on my mirror and model number of my garage opener to see if I have any problems programming it and to see how old my unit is meaning my Chamberlain.

So what you are positing is that, even though you have a year newer model than mine, KIA somehow grabbed an much older part out of a bin somewhere and installed it in your vehicle? Hmmmmm........

Any update? Curious what part number you have.

I’m sorry something came up and haven’t gotten around to it. Should be able to look at it later today and report back to you.

To conclude this thread, dealer agreed to replace the part. The replacement unit is a different part (3 buttons) and works with the security+ 2.0. I had no problems programming it. It also does the two way communication and shows the door direction which is a neat trick. It seems like a much improved part.

Glad they replaced it! Do you happen to have the new part number from the new unit they replaced it with?

Replacement part is S9F62-AU000 as shown here: apparently this site doesn't allow links; how annoying
