I never trusted the plastic housing the first time I read about it! So I used a file to make a marker aligned to the weephole before I loosen the plastic housing for my first oil change. When it was time to close that fragile plastic housing, I stopped turning/tightening when I felt some resistance. Then I used my index finger to feel the marker aligned with the weep hole. That meant I’ve gone far enough as the original position of the plastic housing set from the factory. No more guessing!
