• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Parking sensors work only if I put the car in reverse and then drive. Dealership doesn't know why.

After a snow storm that disabled the forward radar, the parking sensors stopped properly working. Currently, the parking sensors do not signal when I closely drive forwards next to an object. If I put the car in reverse and immediately shift to drive, the sensors work. The dealership has acknowledged that the problem is present; however, because an error code doesn't exist, they cannot fix it. The software is current. The dealership said that the fix could be replacing the module, which cannot be done with an error code. Otherwise, I will just need to wait and see if a future software update will solve the issue. The dealership recommended that I call KIA customer support and explain the issue and situation. Before I do, has anyone experienced this problem? I am hoping to present more than the problem to customer support. In the meantime, I will try disconnecting the battery for a while and then attempt to install the current software version.

Are you sure your parking sensors are actually on?

Make sure the button to enable them is lit. Note that they automatically come on when you shift into reverse, even if they were off beforehand.

We had the same exact issue on our 2022 SX Prestige. I pulled the work order and it says "Upon inspection tech found connector issue. Put stabilant on connectors. Working without issue." I was hoping they had put more detail like the connector location. This was over a year ago, but as I recall my wife said it was on the front. I hope this is more helpful than nothing . . .

What is stabilant? Is that dialectic grease? I’ve been looking at all the connectors in the engine bay and wondering if I should use a product on them to prevent corrosion, because it looks like this layout is going to be prone to it.

Oh. My. God. The darn light was off! When I get into the car the only button I pay attention to is the auto start/stop. I immediately turn it off. Who should be more embarrassed, me or the KIA technicians?? Anyways, thank you so much for literally pointing out the solution.
