• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hopefully no one else has experienced this, I couldn't find it in search, so I thought I'd share. A couple of days ago a road that has been getting reconstructed and one way only for a few years now was switched back to two way traffic. I was happily driving along listening to talk radio when I hear a calm voice making a statement with a red round symbol with a line through it showing on the dash. Took me a moment to realize what was going on. I thought signs that display in the cluster like speed limits, school crossing, etc. were being picked up by the cameras but now I know they are map based. The gentle voice says "Entry to wrong way detected. Check driving direction" every 5 seconds or so. It was barely audible over the radio. I would think if they were going to put in that feature they'd make it stand out a bit more, but it may help someone actually going the wrong way some day. TMYK

You can see and hear it here if you tilt your head to the side.

I am glad everything turned out okay.

Check your settings. You can set the warning volume.

As Deb in Bailey notes, you can adjust that warning volume. I have one stretch of road near my house that occasionally triggers it (think the mapping is slightly off) and then if I'm going through a construction zone where they route you into the oncoming lane of a divided highway, it will trigger.
Nice safety feature; a little unsettling the first time you hear it, but if stops one person from driving the wrong way down a highway or something, I'd say totally worth it.

I posted about it almost three years ago
