Drive mode for towing?

What drive mode should I be in if I am towing 1500 lbs fishing boat? Sport mode? Manual mode?

First Telly was a 2020 EX with tow package. If memory serves, the manual recommends “Sport” mode. Tried to comply but there were times I used Smart or Eco with no obvious trouble. BTW - amazing mileage when I towed - last vehicle (‘08 Envoy) was lucky to get 12 mpg on a trip. The Telly was usually much better (19 - 21).

My ‘24 SX has Tow mode, so I will use that when I tow the boat. Yes, I did have the Dealer install the KIA hitch package after delivery. To date, I am satisfied with that.

Our '24 SX Prestige came with factory hitch and harness - but for some reason the "tow mode" button is missing. Not a big deal IMHO but suggest you check with your dealer to see how your vehicle will be configured.

Tow Mode only is on the X-Trims (X-Line and X-Pro). No other Telluride has a dedicated tow mode.
