Just wondering if anyone knows when the next generation will be out? I have one ordered and to arrive in less than 2 weeks, and now i'm having second thoughts with getting it. I hate paying MSRP and we're not getting what we wanted for our trade.

This is a 2020 model year - so likely not until next Fall. If you can wait a year, then may as well. But, inventory should remain pretty tight through Spring depending on your desired trim.

Yea, that's what I'm afraid of. I know it's super competitive out there, I just hate paying MSRP. May have to suck it up

I know - I just did it. But, when I compared the feature set against alternatives, even MSRP was in the right ballpark. Or, you can get a deal on the Sorento, Ascent, CX-9 or Atlas! The 2020 Ford Explorer is in dealerships now... but no discounts so far there either. At least Kia has a good finance rebate at the moment which helps. All I can say, is it's worth it.

What about the bad windshields I'm reading about? I live in CO, and we're notorious for rocks on the highway.

These are acoustic glass - which can have that problem - there is a separate thread on the windshields. They're being used in many cars today - Palisade, etc. It's certainly a risk - I intend to carry a sufficiently low deductible to handle a replacement if it's not cost prohibitive. It could be with a batch of windshields, or maybe one supplier - I'm sure Kia would issue a recall if there is truly a safety risk. We don't drive many highway miles at the moment - so it's not a huge concern to me personally.

The next generation won't be out for 4-6 years, that's the general life cycle in the automotive industry.

The OP probably meant the next MY. This is a brand new vehicle, the next gen is not here for another 4-5 like you said.
