Had the first service done Saturday, including checking all 4 current TSBs, my car production date falls in the span for each of them. They forgot to reset my maintenance minder, so I'll be trying to find how to do that. They did find a fault with one of my headlights, not with the other, so they've got that ordered. Same with the seat belt, somehow one was an issue but not the others, waiting on the replacement to come in for that too. Weird on both being only one of multiples being an issue. The Ujoint wasn't a problem. They did the software update but I'm not sure if it improved anything with Android Auto but the bluetooth issue does seem better. I can't ever remember if Android Auto is supposed to be open on your phone and then you connect before you turn the car on, or turn on the car first then connect then open it via the car screen or some other combo/order. I took a picture of the screen now, I noticed the indicator when your phone is connected showing signal strength, battery remaining, etc. looks a bit different, at least I think so, I couldn't find a photo showing before. I attached a photo of it now here. Definitely different is the weather section in that it indicates clearly that the weather is pulled from HD radio stations. I had to reset all the station presets, time, changes to other settings. All that gets wiped when they do the software update.
The only problem I had at the appointment was a chip in the paint on the rear hatch. When we bought the car there was a poorly done touch up that we didn't see until we got home. We think it probably happened at the factory for them to have touch up paint. It was a truly crap job, all bubbly, not quite dime size. Our local dealership includes wash and vacuum as part of all service appointments and their car washer machine or person was a bit too industrious and scraped part of that touch up right off. My Telly was in the parking lot when we arrived to pick it up and it was the first thing I saw, bare metal shining through the paint about the size of a pencil eraser. So aggravating. The service advisor tried to put it off on the dealer we bought from and said they aren't responsible for damage which is a crap line and both he and I knew it. I told him I didn't request the car wash so it was indeed on them to fix it but that I'd be satisfied with a touch up paint pen or bottle so I could fix it myself. He balked at that so I asked to speak to the service manager. I guess they realized I was willing to make a stink and that giving me the touch up paint would be far cheaper than repainting the hatch, so they are ordering that for me as well. They didn't have any as mine is the Everlasting Silver and I guess that's a brand new color for Kia. So I'll be going back once they get the headlight, touch up paint, and seat belt parts in. My husband caught a glimpse of the screen or printout that showed the headlight was going to be $500 to order in. Yikes!
