• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone heard of a Telluride arriving at the dealership with steering column issues? Our delivery date has been put on hold due to "steering column codes" and the potential for having the entire steering column replaced at the dealership.

That's a new one one for me......

Have not heard a thing.

Yes, this is a know issue. There have been issues with steering shafts not being properly tightened from factory. All dealers have to check for this before delivery. At least they did back in July when I got mine. You should be able to find some sort of bulletin or info about it online.

Thanks for the information on the steering column! My apprehension is that the fix that I'm hearing about for our specific vehicle is more than just a "tightening" and that the dealership is going to have to replace the steering column. I'm not sure if this is an easy, common, plug and play sort of service that I should just roll with or if it is a more critical process and I should see this as a red flag.

You may want to review (and possibly give to your dealer if they aren't aware):

I would confirm the build date on the driver door panel - make sure its been built recently and really is new (low mileage - less than 20). Confirm what they did... Do the test drive - make sure you're okay with it. Make sure it wasn't a dealer trade... don't want them trading lemons.

Very good advice.... Thank you!

Has anyone ever heard of a steering wheel lock issue when the traction control is ignited?
