• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 Telluride AWD rear end jerking thumping and vibrating

Is this just on the AWD models?

Curious - as I have an AWD on order.

It must not be all of them because most of the reviewer vehicles have been AWD models - and none of the reviewers have mentioned it. Even Car & Driver's long term model that has clocked 14,000 miles.

Yes, the problem is with AWD only.

The new cases could be flat spotted tires, missing wheel weights, etc. Some droning (can be interpreted as vibration) at different speeds happens on most cars. Could be people here reading the historical issues looking too closely to find a problem, so they end up finding one under normal operating conditions.

For sure these could be real issues, but call for a recall seem a bit extreme to me.

Seriously. People Google "Telluride Vibration" and get taken to this thread and start panicking. Take the vehicle to the dealer to diagnose the problem. A quick Google search will show you that there's a multitude of reasons that could be the culprit for vibration at high speeds.

I agree that some people could be overreacting, but do consider that there is an official action on this issue for the Hyundai Palisade. I’m not sure that it’s a recall, maybe a TSB or something else, but the point is they have acknowledged that there is an issue. Given that the vehicles are mechanically the same, Why hasn’t Kia done the same to acknowledge the problem?

Picked mine up 2 nights ago, got it on highway today and noticed it around 70 give or take. Had 10 miles on it when we test drove, 180 now, going in Monday I guess. Build date Jan 3 2020, EXP, AWD.
You would think Kia would have this vibration issue figured out by now. What’s the use of test driving every car coming out of factory if not to address problems like this? I feel for you man.

Definitely a driveline vibration, noticed it yesterday, googled it when I came home and found this thread. Vibrations like this are NOT normal in any car, let alone one this expensive.

I don't doubt that there may very well be a major drivetrain component issue with your vehicle.

I find some of the comments in this thread misguided in and ill-informed. A wheel weight can literally fall off and cause vibration issues. Ultimately the dealership call identify and fix the problem under warranty, and I'm sorry you have to deal with such a potential major problem on a brand new vehicle. It's totally unacceptable in my opinion, but it can happen to any make or model.

What's odd about the drivetrain issue is that it affects a really small number of vehicles, and it doesn't occur during a single period of time but rather since release.

My guess is that it's a supplier issue with poor quality control on the drive train components. if that's the case you would think the supplier could figure it out by now, Or Kia would move on to another supplier.

Tolerance stack-up issues can happen. Two parts at the low end of the their tolerances when combined have a bad result. Odds of that happening are on the lower end, but when it does - BAM, issue!

Well, they looked in the Kia system and could find NO complaints about vibrations in these things. First guy went for a ride and felt nothing, even as I was pointing out the vibration he said he could feel nothing. Next guy, much better guy, still only barely felt what I was talking about, but acknowledged there was something there. He wants me to come back after the car has 5 or 600 miles so they can road force balance the tires and go from there.

Given the number of complaints about this issue, both here and in other venues (including at least four formal complaints on nhtsa.gov) it would seem to me that your dealer is feeding you a line when he says there are no complaints. Based on the numbers from the survey on this forum it would seem that it affects only a small portion of the vehicles produced, but it is a very real problem.

Hi anyone from Dubai having the same vibration issue, my vehicle gets the humm sound and vibration on steering wheel, pedals and floor from 70-105kph.. have checked the alignment twice now from different garages.

To those with the vibration, did it ever get progressively worse or it was there from day one and never changed?

I picked up my awd sx 5 days ago. Noticed something wasn’t right. I brought it into the shop they say it’s fine, but it’s not. They did notice a broken boot so they replaced that.
Still noticing a vibration or shimmy at 60 ish.

has anyone had luck with any drive shaft replacement of fixing this issue.

Anybody feel a oscillating vibration at around 70mph?
SX AWD
Have a SX Telluride, bought in June 19 it’s my wifes vehicle she has 13000 on it now, I don’t drive it often but I did these past few days with a 1hr trip on the highway with speeds up to 80mph I noticed the vibration and a noise which sounds like the drivetrain from either the transfer case to wheel bearing. Asked the wife if she noticed it before but ofcourse she didn’t. I’m a certified BMW/ Hyundai/ ASC Tech. So I know there is problem

Please let us know how you resolve the problem.

I am having the same vibration noise at any speed. Really annoying on the Interstate when the radio is off. It is coming from the overhead rear controls for climate that have the 2 lights. You can touch it anywhere on the unit and it immediately stops. Starts back as soon as you let go. Sometimes it will go away for a time then return and do it constantly. Going to setup appointment with dealer to get it fixed. Other than this, this SUV is the best vehicle I have ever owned. One other thing to note, when we first got home with it I had a squeak in the driver door when opening and closing. It turned out to be the insulation pushed out in the driver side quarter panel and was rubbing the door. I just lightly pushed it back in and problem solved.
I was able to get this fixed. Dealer took down the overhead middle controls and fixed the rattle. Has never come back.

I have the same exact issue and it's so annoying! I'm dreading having to take it to the dealer as my local dealer service has not been a great experience but this needs to go away.

They changed out my rear driveshaft and differential. That cured mine

Mine never really got progressively worse. It was the same when we noticed it about day 3 and never really changed until it was fixed.
