In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2020 Telluride AWD rear end jerking thumping and vibrating

What did they do to fix your issue? I have a 2015 Genesis and had the same problem. They had to replace the entire center joint and rear half of driveshaft / knuckle, etc.

planning on buying a telluride but dont want to deal with the same issue as on my genesis.

Thanks in advance.
Did you have a G80?
How has the experience been so far with it?

I have the same in my Telluride vibrate at 120.

So what is the actual reason behind vibration?
Will this issue be there in upcoming 2021 Telluride?

My understanding is that this affected earlier builds but KIA and Hyundai identified the issue and the fix should be applied to all future cars including 2020 models. But the good news is that KIA has repaired it under warranty and those with the repair seem to have no issues.

Agreed
But for some drivers the Telluride might be their first vehicle, they might not complain.
On moral grounds, Hyundai and Kia should recall all such vehicles and set them good.

First off - feel horrible for all those that have experienced this issue. I have been reading as much on this forum as possible as I am interested in purchasing. Are any recent purchasers having this issue?

Got mine in March and have had NO issues, and since they have a service bulletin out on this, I expect that everything coming off the line has the fix installed already. Not good business to have to fix it again after the fact.

I would not worry too much about this issue. Very few reports vs. total cars produced. Also, not a lot of recent reports.

For what is is worth, similar issue with the two cars I bought previous to the Telluride (2004 Acura TL - “droning” and similar with 2011 Volvo S60- “droning“ at certain speeds). The semantics of how things played out was the same as the Telluride. A few owners who had a terrible time and wanted a dealer buy back or cursed the vehicle. Tons of other owners with no issues.

Mine is an early February build and no issues. So far a really great vehicle.

Hi, could you possibly share that bulletin please?

Hey mate, do you have a copy of that service bulletin?

Hi, could you possibly share that bulletin please?

It was an official TSB for Hyundai Palisade. Not sure if Kia ever released one for the Telluride.

Mentioned on post #489 of this thread.

I’ve had my Telluride SXP AWD since August 2019. I put aftermarket wheels on it about a month after a bought it (and kept the original Michelin tires) and started noticing the vibration shortly after when I was around 65-75 MPH. I thought it was my wheels, so I have spent A LOT of time at the shop I bought the wheels from having the tires rotated, balanced, a hub spacer installed, etc. They have done tons of work on my wheels and tires, so I finally did a Google search for “Kia Telluride Vibration” and ran across several forums with people who’ve had similar issues. I called my dealership to set up an appointment because I now know that I’m not crazy and this is a real problem! The service manager immediately went on the defensive and brought up my aftermarket wheels. He wants me to bring the original wheels back in so they can put them back on and see if it still vibrates. I feel like this is a HUGE waste of everyone’s time! Has anyone heard anymore about a Kia service bulletin about this issue? I really don’t want to have to fight the dealership to get this fixed. I’m hoping a can provide them with some info from some of your experiences and hopefully expedite this process. I really appreciate any feedback/suggestions you guys have!

Have them call Kia Techline.

Let them have a look at ur drive shafts . I read someone had the same problem. Mine comes wen the vehicle is cold and if the tires are low on air. Still watching to see

This is a drag, but I am not sure if there is a way around it. In order for Kia to make sure your drivetrain meets the factory specs, you need the factory parts on there. I have read this thread from the beginning, so I know your wheels aren’t the problem—but with the amount of work it can take to diagnose and fix this vibration issue, you don’t want to put any doubt in their minds—or give them an excuse not to do the work.
