  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Bad Dealer Dealings - List Your Bad Dealer Experience

Here's the best part Jason:

Sales Manager: everyone is marking these up like this. You won't find any "deals" on SX-Ps. I just don't want you to waste your time driving to dealer and after dealer.

Me: are you sure? I think I've heard of people getting these at or near MSRP, even in this area.

SM: if you show me someone that's even close to MSRP and bring me their invoice, I'll buy you dinner.

Me: 😐
Haha I have my purchase from Sansone in New Jersey! I should go collect my dinner!

I would never ask you, but if I happened to see your invoice/sales sheet, I'd drive the 35 minutes back over there to show the sales manager!

The items on the mark up were nuts. Nitrogen tires, laser etched body panels, interior protection, etc. But get this, there was a separate $3k line item for the prestige pckg!

Chicagoland - Napleton Elgin Kia

Ordered an EX in August, was told 4-6 weeks. That time comes and goes, checked in with the salesman and he backpedals and says he said 4-6 months, even though I have an email thread that says weeks. Another month goes by, nothing. I decide to hit up a friend out of state who sells Kias and explained my situation. Was basically told they probably got my car and decided to sell it. Forgot to mention they have been selling regular stock Tellurides for $4k over. So I decide to place an order with my friend and see which comes first. I also told original dealer I was doing this. Original dealer finally gets the hint and magically my Telluride is going to be ready “soon”. I received a build notice from my friend’s dealership 4 weeks after ordered. Original dealer tells me the car is coming in 2 weeks before the second one I ordered...3 months later! Told Napleton Kia I wouldn’t be giving them my business. Just took delivery from my friend this past weekend. F Napleton Kia

That's a shame - there are quite a few members waiting on a delivery from Elgin Kia. I think they just weren't putting orders into KFOS when they had a chance, and used those allocations for their store inventory.

That is a lie as well. Corporate not pulling anything. You can't even report the cars sold until they are on the lot. Nothing adds up.
I had a similar situation that happened to me. I ordered an SXP from Kia Of Somerset Kentucky in mid September. After approximately a four or five month wait for the dealer called me and told me he had a VIN for the vehicle and it would be here in a couple of weeks. The car never came and the dealer has informed me that he has no idea why it did not show up. I am going on a six-month weight now and still do not have another VIN or ETA. I do not have a written contract just a verbal agreement but nevertheless I find it strangeThat the vehicle was allegedly on its way and suddenly was apparently rerouted to another dealer.

Do you have the order ID#? If they placed the order you will have that.

Yeah he gave me an order ID and I am quite confident that he did order the vehicle. He is the floor manager for the dealership and has been there for several years. He is very highly rated by all of his customers and I can find no negative comments about him. Additionally he already has my trade in a Porsche Cayenne sold as soon as he can get it. I really do not feel he is being dishonest with me. I guess I will just wait and see what happens this next month. Their dealership advertisers at MSRP. And does not mark up any of their vehicles.

Sorry I forgot to answer the last part of your question. Yes the order was verbal with no deposit required.

I guess he could have been honest, but then someone above him pulled it given there was no written agreement or deposit.

Haha. So, he told me that "all dealers tell you they have no mark-ups just to get you in the door."

Old School Sales Tactics!

Yup. The funniest part about it all, was that he was working so hard to tell me I was a fool. I said, "if you're confident that you are correct, why do you feel the need to convince me?! It's my time and money I'm apparently wasting, not yours!"

Anyway, enjoy your new ride Stacy and congrats!

He'd say that's not proof by the way!
Keep an eye on Sansone they have a lot coming in. They gave me the sheet no gimmicks! Straight msrp ! Near Woodbridge

Thanks for the tip. I'm gonna try and stick with Muncie (unless my wife threatens me again, haha). Those guys have been great, it's just a long long wait, as we all know.

Did they whip out the old 4 square? I had a guy do that to me on my first car purchase after college when I was 21 (way back in 2001). I was like... get that crap out of here. I'm paying X in cash out the door and not worried about how you'll try to fit in some payment methodology, etc..

They did the same to me I was working with them trying to get exactly what I wanted. Of course it was the hardest to get so I asked if I could order they said no orders were being taken. First come first serve. The first time I never even drove the car they pestered me all week to come in for test drive even the morning I told them I was coming when I got there they said it was sold. They would not even let me look at it!!! I went nuts!!! They kept calling me after trying to make it right. Finally I was ready to cave for another color and was told there was going to be markup. Only a few thousand! Ok bye. Finally I said take my number off your list I will never even get an oil change at your dealership. You lost a 10 year loyal customer.
