Telluride VIN Lookup Website

What’s your lookup site written in? It would be cool to show some summary stats (units by model, color, etc) as well as have a stronger mobile UI.

I was interested in the % of vehicles in different colors and looked at the mobile page that lists most vehicles, pulled it into Excel and found that 5% are Black Copper. Most popular colors are those you would expect.

Anyway it’s a cool and useful tool. Where are you pulling the data from?

It's in python, with a postgres backend. All the code is open source and available at jamie-houston/vin-lookup. I'm not a ui person so I just reuse what's already available...

I want to do some stats but have gotten busy with my day job so haven't updated much the past week or so.

@Michelw also posts some stats that have been really insightful.

I have update my Kia Telluride US production stats. by trim and colors chart.

In that chart you will have all of the color/trim breakdown since the start of the production last year.

I’m thinking about putting together a little stats app based on the data. Any objection to me having a scraper pull data from your mobile page, maybe once a day? Or other options? I haven’t don’t python in ages so not sure contributing to your open source project will be fruitful and provide quick enough “wins”.

I’m hoping with these tools I’ll be able to track down a Telluride that I don’t need to pay an arm and a leg over MSRP for....but that’s probably unlikely.

Wow, looking through the list, there aren't any orders for the EX AWD that aren't the Premium Package. I must be the odd ball wanting the bench for 8 passengers....

I’m waiting with you. I ordered the EX AWD Black Copper in Dune Nappa back in November.

Thanks to this awesome app from @foresterh I was able to call around as new Dune Brown vins were assigned within a 3 hour radius and I found an unclaimed P/T vehicle last week. I picked it up yesterday for basically MSRP--it was a $1000 over but the financing rebate brought it back down. So with a little legwork it's still possible to find one without a huge wait or crazy markup.

Yeah... that's not good. Hope it's not my site.

You can also look at @Steve.eichert 's site for stats to see what it looked like over time/previous monday's. TellyStats . I added a link to the menu on my site as well.

Actually, it's 11 months - since March. So that's 15/11... less than 1.5 Tellurides per month. Really low rate of allocation. Yes, you must be the next SXP they are getting - you already have an internal number, so that's great. Lucky I'd say... glad that small dealership was willing to work with you.

I see my window sticker from the website today! Not even one day delay, still can't believe getting a SXP in just three months...

First, thanks for the lookup site, very helpful. Second, the Tow option does not seem to be translating on some of the VIN's (ex. 5XYP3DHC6LG075733 ). Is this a user issue or with the script?

Looks like only reporting EX's with P /T options and P options, not T individually. Looks like a bug.....

Ugg, I've been looking for an EX with just the Tow Package and NOT the prestige, and wondered why I cannot find any. Is this VIN number spoken for ??
