Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. @foresterh , One more suggestion: Perhaps put a `last updated <date time>` on the page, so we can tell that your scraper is running.
Of course, its super helpful already! I expect my VIN any day now based on the ETA my dealer gave me, so my new favorite past time is refreshing your page

Good idea. I was thinking of having a stats page or section. Cars scraped today... Or sx, ex, etc in last day... I dunno. I like stats. At the very least I'll add the last update and maybe count for the day. Yeah... Either all the vins today and yesterday are international or I didn't go far enough. I'll dig further.

As of January 22, 2020 I looked at my latest data in my database and there is in fact a huge gap between the following VINs:
5XYP24HC2LG074260 ... 5XYP3DHC4LG074371 (gap of 110 VINs)
foresterh I suggest that you modify your logic to support a gap of at least 200 VINs. From my experience, I have never seen a gap of more than 200 VINs.
Note: These huge gaps are normal and they represent Telluride VINs for Canada or the Middle East. In average 10% of all produced Telluride VINs are going to Canada or Middle East.

For everyone else, the scraper will run over the next few hours to grab the rest of the vins.

@foresterh how often does your site update? I guess I should ask if it's automatically scraping? Last scrape was 3 hours ago from what I'm seeing. Don't feel pressured to change anything, this is just a question.

It checks every 30 minutes. I think it's all caught up. I'm not sure if the vins are added once a day or multiple times, but I added logging to see when and how much it scrapes so I'll know tomorrow.

Should I be depressed that my dealer only has 3 show up in the tool and 4 overall this month? None prestige... ugh. They went from averaging 15/month down to 9 last month (which ok, holidays is explainable), and now down to 4. Something doesn't smell right.
Yeah, probably. They may have been one of the dealers not following instructions... they aren't getting many prestige. I guess keep pestering fleet manager for information.
You ordered an SXP just over two months ago. If normal wait times are from 5-6 months, isn't it a little premature to start pestering the dealership? Can they even do anything in the first place? Or are you and the dealership at the mercy of the "KIA gods"?

What I’m worried about is this... 1) your order from Aug hasn’t yet been filled and it’s a prestige 2) They had 0 prestige orders so far this month, and only 4 orders to date this month when they usually have closer to 15 total. 3) I was told 4 months maybe 5, expect late March. They now know now if the order wasn’t in KFOS by last week that we won’t see the vehicle until April probably late April at this point because people are posting April ETAs on here now. April is 5 months, and if you don’t have any info on your date of ETA for an Aug order then how in the world am I going to get my Nov order in say 7-8 months? Have you heard that the order was Allocated in KFOS yet? See where I’m going with this?
It may never get fulfilled this year.....

If they weren't following directions... it doesn't make sense that your order hasn't been fulfilled yet from them and they aren't forthcoming on how many orders are in front of you. You had an August order... they probably weren't putting their orders into KFOS as they were instructed. They are a good size dealership - should have better allocations. That is what raydog is alluding to.
Thank you for making this. After a month, 5 terrible dealer experiences, and 1 failed special order, I was able to find the one I wanted before it hit the dealer website and got sold. It was awesome to be able to list a VIN that was on the way to them and they were like, "wait, how did you know we were getting that?"

I think the only way to know is to call and ask if they have it allocated yet and if they have an ETA for your vehicle. It might already have been entered and added, but not yet given a VIN. If they don't, then ask how many are in front of you to order. I'd say you are following some forums and you have tools available to you that show only 4 vehicles with VIN's created this month to date and none are SXP. Did your order go into KFOS yet and if not, when will it go.
