If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... KIA Muncie - What was the time from order to delivery of your Telluride?

Not quite sure which thread to post this in - my experience in relevant to many threads.
First - a big thank you to Jason, Lucas and management at Muncie for their Costco deal and for giving me hope that I COULD get what I wanted at a discounted price.
Second - a big thank you to the tech savvy members of this forum - vin scraping, production data and searchable spreadsheets have been entertaining during my wait and ultimately critical in my quest.
Third - thank you to StacyG- you calling out a NJ dealer not selling above MSRP and your description of how you found your car inspired me to follow your footsteps.
Though not in NJ....
Soon after Stacy’s posted her conquest I filtered the VIN spreadsheet to see where the vehicle with color/trim choices I wanted were going. I found some on west coast, some down south and very few in the north east. But one was tagged to go to Monroeville Kia in Pennsylvania- about 5 hours from me. I took a flier and submitted an online inquiry with the VIN to see if it was available and if it was, would they sell it to me at MSRP. The internet rep got right back to me and said it was sold. So I still had my order at Muncie - no problem.
Next morning I get a call from the internet rep who said the sales manager told him the buyer backed out and it was available and that if I was interested I should call Irvin Krueger the sales manager. Spoke with him he said it would be mine at MSRP with a refundable deposit. Gave it to him - got financing arranged and he said we were good. The car came a week early and I was heading out of town for the week and could not pick up the car for a week. I asked him not to let anyone test drive it. He said they would not.
So I picked up my Geeen Moss SXP with tow yesterday at Monroeville Kia. It had 12 miles on it. Everyone was great - best car buying experience I have ever had!
Had a great 5 hour drive home - learned a lot of what folks are talking about on this forum. Love the car.
BTW - Lucas refunded my deposit!
Thanks everyone - a truly crowdsourced experience.

Glad you were able to get what you wanted, happy for you. @Jason Fox, when this situation happens, when a buyer for your market backs out, how does that affect your allocations? Do you still get that car and are able to sell it to whomever, or does it affect your next months' allocations because the person who originally ordered it didn't buy it?

We cancel the order as it shortens everyone's wait. If it's built and on way 9 times out of 10 they accept it.

I've seen newer orders filled before older orders. It really depends on how they push them out of the plant. No science to any of this. Could be a long wait...could be a short wait. To be honest it is as if KIA might not even know at times. It's like asking Santa to hit all of the homes before the sun comes up. Tough job to do! We have some great people @ our West Point Georgia plant working long hours to get these Tellurides out. Patience people!
No fair... Kia’s letting old orders sit while filling new orders. That’s leaving money in the table for the plucking..

Why can't orders just be filled as a first come first serve?! instead of playing favorites along the way...that's kinda messed up of Corporate to be doing that.

So I placed my order with Muncie on Nov 13 (SX AWD w/Towing Package) , @Jason Fox & Lucas made the car buying experience easy and pleasant. (y) I'm hoping the Telluride comes in around March or sooner!, my lease on my current vehicle is up in March

mine was 11/15, so your head of me. Let’s keep our fingers crossed 1582920691659.webp

I would not go by everything that you read. KIA's increased production plays into this. Everyone is backed up on SX and SX-P's. That's the world we live in right now unfortunately. Tell the dealers who are not following KIA's guidelines to play fair. KIA released a statement that if all dealers had done as they were told... Delivery of Sold orders could have increased by like 30%. That is why KIA is canceling bogus orders as we speak. If you don't have a verified deposit and the paperwork to back it up you are out. That is why you have dealers telling people KIA stopped SXP orders or KIA is done taking orders. Those are the lies that are told. And truth be told... Most order from us because of our reputation and discount. If you are looking for fast and easy those dealers have the $5k-$8k mark up and the vehicle is on the lot and ready for delivery!
Well said Jason...

I posted this in the 'Good Dealer Experience" thread already but thought I'd add it here as well since this one is Muncie specific. It took awhile, but if I had to do it again I'd still place the order via Lucas and Kia of Muncie:

My specs:
Model: AWD SX (non-P)
Color: Gravity gray exterior, black interior
Additional options: Tow package, mud guards, cross bars
MSRP: $46,180 (includes the ‘new’ pricing that went into effect in Jan)
Muncie Costco Price: $44,864 (before incentives and trade in)

My timeline:
Oct. 16, 2019: Order placed (estimated 2-3 month for delivery)
Jan. 21, 2020: Order accepted (ETA 3/1)
Feb. 12, 2020: VIN created (ETA 2/29)
Feb. 17, 2020: ETA moved up to 2/24
Feb. 19, 2020: Arrived at Muncie
Feb. 29, 2020: Took delivery

I also added on the 10 year, 100k warranty ($1,478) and an 84 month tire/wheel protection plan.

I ordered a very similar combo - SX non P, mid January from Muncie. This is a pretty decent turn around, gives me a bit of hope!

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but isn't 10 year / 100k warranty standard?

It is six plus months

Just ordered my S model from Muncie this week. I live about 3 hours NW of Muncie, but had an awful time with local dealers. Lucas took great care of me. Looking forward to posting my delivery time on here.
