The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... KIA Muncie - What was the time from order to delivery of your Telluride?

How much over MSRP did they charge? If they didn’t do customer orders it’s likely because they want to cash in... or you got lucky.

Nevermind, found one of your other posts. Sounds like you did well. BTW, love the pictures.

By all accounts I got lucky in many ways and paid under MSRP. The impression I have is that they don't charge over MSRP. But they may stick a paint protection on it if it hasn't been claimed. Mine had 0 dealer add ons as I told them I didn't want any. No logos. Nothing.

So Kia of Muncie gets 7 Tellurides per month of which 1 or 2 will be SXP’s. Maybe!!! So if my SXP order is 25th on their list i’m Looking at 12-24 months? Unless the Kia god intervenes.
@Jason Fox say this isn't so! :(

I'm hoping with Kia increasing Tellurides to 100k units this year that all our allocations increase.. will help quicker turnaround. But to answer the question and I have said multiple times in this forum. Just because a dealership has 50 orders in the system they will only be given how many they earned via allocation. Very important if you are reading this and ordering in the future to ask how many units get allotted of the specific trim you are wanting... How many orders are in line ahead of me. Ask to speak to the inventory manager that places all orders. use the tools here to find the high volume dealers.. with the spreadsheet provided by @Michelw and the telluride lookup provided by @foresterh (click the dealer tab and search by state).

With these tools you can find the best dealers to order from with the best turn around times..
Excellent forum with a lot of work that has been put here.. please please use it.

*btw Muchie is awesome and with the Costco program is definitely a great way to go.. just making this statement in general to do homework on here if you can

I would not go by everything that you read. KIA's increased production plays into this. Everyone is backed up on SX and SX-P's. That's the world we live in right now unfortunately. Tell the dealers who are not following KIA's guidelines to play fair. KIA released a statement that if all dealers had done as they were told... Delivery of Sold orders could have increased by like 30%. That is why KIA is canceling bogus orders as we speak. If you don't have a verified deposit and the paperwork to back it up you are out. That is why you have dealers telling people KIA stopped SXP orders or KIA is done taking orders. Those are the lies that are told. And truth be told... Most order from us because of our reputation and discount. If you are looking for fast and easy those dealers have the $5k-$8k mark up and the vehicle is on the lot and ready for delivery!

I wish we knew. It's like asking me when is it going to be 70 and Sunny in Indiana? We give a range based off what KIA tells us. Do they know right now? Probably not. Welcome to the wild wild west.

I know, I know. I genuinely feel bad for the people that have been waiting since July/August for theirs. The annoyance of Kia not being able to wrangle the bad dealers until quite recently is what has killed the production timeline and I think ruined the buying experience for a lot of people. If I didn't really want this car, I'd have backed out a long time ago because the wait is ridiculous.

And to see filled orders come before older orders makes no sense but we don't control the production lines. It's way above our pay grade. Direct those questions to KIA.

I'm at 4 months today for my SX-P 😬. If you want a deal, you have to wait. Either that, or wait and buy later in the year when all dealers hopefully have more inventory. Who knows at this point. I just hope I have mine by March at the latest. Any later and my wife will most definitely put me out 😔

Ha yeah... Mine got pretty ticked off yesterday as I was explaining the process and possible timing based on the knowledge from this forum. I've shielded it from her for a little bit knowing her personality. Any event, first reaction was.... who do I need to call, this is BS, if you're not going to call the dealer I am, etc... I had to try to explain that they won't know jack and I have asked, etc. BTW, her other response was... "this is a Kia not a Lamborghini. If we custom ordered a Lamborghini, we'd know exactly how long, the dealer would know how long, and likely would have it faster than the Kia we're trying to get". Then she said what I've been saying all along, why is it that some dealers have over 40 sitting on a lot in inventory (i.e. Friendly in New Port Richey) yet getting actual customer sold orders completed takes an act of congress. I can't argue that point.

Did you tell her to order that Lambo for you? 😂

It’s like there is a “Kia Mafia” dictating who gets Tellurides sent to them and Friendly Kia is part of the family.

I'm working on it ;) Neighbor 5 houses down has a blue Aventador SV and it's amazing. If this damn snow would go away, I might see it some more.

In all seriousness though she did let me setup a Ferrari fund 2 years ago. Once the final kid was almost out of daycare, I started popping $200/wk into a mutual fund. The running joke in the house was that with what we paid to KinderCare, and then an Au Pair (which was cheaper and way better) for 3 kids over 12 years that we were essentially paying cash for a Ferrari. We were averaging $565 a week with 2 at a time for the better part of 10 years because of the kids ages (roughly $300k for flipping KinderCare, wish we went the Au Pair route years before that).

I'm sure the wife will find some other way to spend the $ as she sees it pile up. Home improvements, or something.. ugh.

There's always something. So far in 2020, we've replaced two water heaters and bought a Telluride. Now gearing up for a backyard patio project. And hoping that our 14 year old plus HVAC system doesn't crap out on us. And the kids are another year closer to college.

This sounds like the convo we just had over the weekend 😆. Do you have my house wire tapped?!?!

bought an sx from friendly this week. I was told they got 50 tellurides because they promised corporate they’d buy 200 “other” Kia’s. They are a volume dealer.

Lol. That is a lie my friend. Every dealer in America would do that right now if offered.
