• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Leather is peeling on my nappa leather seats. SX-P dune brown interior. This is the drivers seat.

My wife wears scrubs 95% of the time the car is driven so it's definitely not from rough jeans or anything.

Anyone else seeing this?

Well that's not good. Now that the SXP trims have been on the road for a year - I would think others would have seen it. Hoping others chime in. Also - love the lighted skid plate. Any other pictures of that? I have it on the SXP I have ordered. I have the black Nappa leather...I am curious to know if anyone else has this happening on the black interior.

As to your vehicle - when was it produced? When did you take delivery? How many miles do you have on it?

I read at lease one other post about this problem. I believe that the poster reported that Kia replaced seat cover... as this looks defective. I'd start a case.

BTW, I regularly use Adams leather cleaner and conditioner on the seats. Very important to condition the leather.

We've had it since mid November 2019. There is around 6,000 miles I believe.

The lighted scuff plates are great. Not something I would have chosen, but now that I have them I'm really happy they are there.

This is the only other thread I could find on it...but don't think this is the one you were referring too. Do you have the link that you are referring to? Interesting...that the link below and this thread both feature the brown interior.

We have the Dune since August, no problems. But I conditioned leather upon receipt and about 1x / month.

I plan to watch this thread to see if this is becoming a problem. I have a Dune on order and am starting to worry about the quality of the vehicle. Never had a Kia before. Thinking about switching to a Genesis GV80 for about a 5-8k bump in price.

Anybody that could switch to the GV80 really doesn’t need a Telluride...so please do!

I spoke to a genesis dealer and found that it's really not much more than a SXP unless you go with the top of the line GV80 which would come in around 65k. If you're looking at a mid level trim for 53k and maybe better leasing numbers, it would make sense. Just keeping my options open if this Telluride order turns into a really bad experience as it has for some people here.

Yes, it is not big enough for my family, but it should be an awesome vehicle and I would think a better experience for the customer overall.
However this is a highly anticipated vehicle so expect them to be marked up on the debut. Also the Hyundai supply chain issues due to the Coronavirus are not going to help matters...

We have over 14,000 miles on our SXP Dune brown nappa leather. Not a single issue with the leather, or anything else on the vehicle - period.

Sure, but you'll likely be very happy. I think we read about people's problems, but they are few in the big picture of total production and sales. Furthermore, Kia has been actively trying to resolve them based on members posts - they haven't been saying "sorry, your problem now." It may take a bit of effort to get through local service departments. We have an August build and couldn't be happier. Amazing vehicle. By the time yours is built, more issues should be worked out. Good to keep options open I guess, and the GV80 is an option if that's in your price point. But, that's a whole new platform... expect issues too.

Good point, if there were some big issue with the Telluride we would know about it on this forum. Not to mention all the great reviews.

Yeah, the C&D review I posted on January 13 about their 14,000 mile experience was also a good unbiased review. They were very pleased with reliability so far. There are going to be issues with any vehicle - but even if we hear about 200 on this forum - from minor to major things (such as Vibration, transmission failures or lemons) - keep in mind that over 80,000 have been produced!

Honestly - it was the C&D review that pushed me over the edge to place an order. 14K miles in 4 months is heavy use and we know car reviewers have a heavy foot and tend to abuse their vehicles. Can't wait to get ours in May (hopefully)

We have over 11k miles on our Dune brown leather and no issues. That's with no conditioning, just basic cleaning.
