• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Telluride post second best month of sales in Feb - but still outsold by Palisade

Not surprising as Hyundai has greater production capacity for the Palisade presently, but even before Telluride production expands, likely will see the Kia best the Hyundai in forthcoming months as Ulsan production has been deeply impacted by covid-19.

Nonetheless, the 2 sold a combined 13,707 for the month - which beat Pilot sales by a good margin (9,668); the 2 don't have production capacity yet to take on the Highlander.

H/K has definitely hit the sweet spot of the market and buyers are recognizing it. I am finally starting to see more Tellurides and Palisade on the road. Most of the Tellurides I see are the EX model while I seem to be seeing an even split between SEL and Limited Palisade.

I also believe that this could be in a large part due to the difference between the reputation of the KIA dealerships vs. the Hyundai dealerships. The Hyundai dealerships seem to have a reputation for better business practices and customer satisfaction than the KIA stores. If someone put a gun to my head and I had to purchase one or the other in my area, it would be a Hyundai simply do to the dealership. Unless there are some changes in ownership/upper management, I will not set foot in our local KIA store.

Hyundai dealerships are probably improving because of Genesis.

Yeah, I think I've seen 2 SX/SXP's on the road. Starting to see lots more EX and I saw 1 S (all relative since any Telluride is pretty rare to see for now, but definitely seeing more). Lots of Palisade now, though I have a dealer 1 mile from us that seems to always have the motherlode of Palisade on their lot and advertises way below MSRP on all trim levels before incentives. There's 1 Gravity Grey EX in the neighborhood somewhere, and 1 White Palisade Limited. The Palisade guy stopped for a minute or two and stared at my Copper SXP the other day while I was cleaning it towards the end of my driveway. He could have got out and said hi but didn't. Guessing there was some envy there.

It's location dependent I think. Our local Kia's in the NW suburbs of Chicago are generally not the best in terms of location (lower end area in sketchy town), and structure (old building that probably was a dealership for 30-40 years prior). Some of them are shady in terms of add ons and over MSRP practices. Whereas where I actually bought my car in Northern WI, it was like it should be. Brand new facility in good area right off highway, no haggle pricing at MSRP (for Tellurides) or lower (on their other cars), fresh baked cookies that rocked (mad at myself for not grabbing a bunch on the way out, but didn't want to get crumbs in the car), any sort of cold drinks you could want, starbucks machine, etc.. Plus the people were so nice, met just about every employee in the place from reception to sales to service, etc.

Sounds nice. San Antonio, TX doesn't have any of these nice dealerships. They are all in average to poorer parts of town and the experience sucks all the way around. In addition - they all had large dealer markups. That is the one thing that will suck about owning a Telluride in San Antonio, TX - having to deal with the crappy dealership network. KIA needs to work hard to elevate their game and fast.

For service I think I'm going to have to go to the nicer one near me (near being 20 min. away), but have a bad taste in my mouth with them because they would never budge on being $2k over MSRP. Either that or the one I went to in Elgin for my original order had nice people but in a shady area and old facility.

I actually have ordered my SXP with @StephenCantrelle at Classic KIA in Carrollton. And yes - They have been 100 times better to deal with than any of the dealerships in San Antonio or Austin.
