• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have a 2020 Telle EX after about 2 months this feature did not work anymore I took it to the dealer and was told this feature did not work when it was cold out, then a few weeks later when it was 82 degrees out , that feature still did not work the dealer had to put a module that controlled the battery system that worked for about 5 minutes , now is does not Stop when Im at a traffic light or restart when I take my foot off the brake or any other time that feature is supposed to work. Anyone else have that problem, or have any suggestions?

I don't have a Telly but Ive had driven cars with the auto S/S.... If it was cold out, did you have the heater on? And to me in South Jersey if its 82 I'm going to have the A/C on, was yours? Some cars with the auto S/S will not turn off if the heater and A/C are running. Again, not a Telly owner, yet.. Just my .02

You're lucky. Everyone else wishes theirs wouldn't work. 😄 LOL
Had to drive my dads 2020 Ford Ranger the other day.. OMFG it was so annoying with the auto S/S. It wasn't quick as some other cars. Thank you Ford for putting a deactivate button on the center console!

If you find it was a bad part and they swap it out, can you see if they will give you the bad pat and I'd buy it off you...I would love to have that "feature" permanently disabled.

I have noticed that driving around in the cornavirus wasteland that the stop and go does not kick on as much as it did in the past. It not only seems to need to have energy needs met but it has to have fed back from traffic to kick on. When I get into traffic it kicks on, but when I am at the stop light alone it does not seem to.

Also had it working fine before the pandemic. My theory is that less regular driving is causing the battery to stay more discharged. Therefore not having enough power reserves to activate at stoplights. Will revisit the issue when we go back to normal daily driving, and perhaps test the battery with a meter as well to make sure it’s holding charge properly.

I believe your theory is correct. We had the car garaged for a month, when we returned it started right up, but the start/stop did not activate for the following two weeks. I put a trickle charger on the battery overnight, and now it is working fine.

That’s a great idea @James! Would you mind sharing the model of your charger? Also do you have the AGM type battery? I have it on my SXP. Not sure if all chargers are compatible with AGM.

Just bought the Battery Tender 800 model since it is weatherproof and compatible with AGM batteries.

Also checked the batteries on my cars with a multimeter. Interesting how the Telluride was reading 12.02V while my 5 year old Toyota battery is reading at 12.2V. The telluride computers must really be eating up that parasitic battery drain.

Deltran battery tender 3A. They are compatible with AGM. I have an SXP also.

this is actually not a problem. this system, like much electronic in the car, is programmed. In some brands, this feature is disabled, in some brands - no. but, this system is tied to temperature and by connecting a computer to the service connector, you can reduce the operating temperature range and the system will stop working. I have Hyundai & Kia GDS VCI but there is no telluride yet - I'm waiting. when I arrive I’ll try to connect and check all options.

Reporting back that the battery tender solved my issue with ISG not activating. did have to drive it for a bit for the coolant temp to warm up to operating temp first.

Measured 12.3V on the battery with a multimeter before charging. After the charging was complete, measured 12.5V. Immediately measured again like 1 minute later and it dropped to 12.46V. After the 15 minute drive it’s measuring 12.49V.

So I guess if people want to intentionally disable their ISG system because they don’t like it, just let the battery discharge to 12.3V or lower.

You all better hope your Telly didn't contract the Virus. ;)
