I have seen an entry for HD Radio Data on the UVO 10.25 inch screen in some of the videos. What data is available?
I think that refers to live traffic data and sports scores...just guessing.I have seen an entry for HD Radio Data on the UVO 10.25 inch screen in some of the videos. What data is available?
I have the same issue in Augusta Georgia. It works strange to me. I live in Ottawa. There are HD stations here but I dont get the weather data. If I go to Montreal, it works great there, infact when I travel back to Ottawa it then displays the Ottawa weather and works well. My problem is the next time I start the car at home it no longer displays the weather. It only ever displays it in Montreal or Toronto and then displays it in Ottawa when I return home but once I shut off the Telluride after the trip back it doesn't display it anymore the next time I start it up again. Very strange.
You are correct.... sort of. I can only attest to the new US-based map update, not the Canadian version. For the US, weather is now a function of UVO, No more reliance on HD Radio. Weather data is provided by Foreca (Foreca - Wikipedia) through the UVO server and is synched w/GPS. While under Nav guidance, weather will be displayed for both your current location (as you travel) and destination. Nice touch. Two thumbs up on the new US map update.New software update will probably help out with some of this as I believe they are offloading some of the the features that depend on HD data to UVO functionality.
In our area I am presented with three cities to select from and none of them are less than 40 miles from where we live. So, it appears that there are no local HD stations transmitting weather data... and that the software on this car still uses HD radio data only.
We took delivery of our 2021 EX Premium Telluride on August 19, 2020. It was manufactured August 7, 2020 and delivered to the dealer on August 17. I would expect that either at the time it was built or during dealer prep that everything would have been update prior to delivering the car to us. I live in South Carolina (i.e., this is a US spec vehicle). I have activated UVO Link.
I could not find any resources that allowed me to upgade the infotainment center myself. This site (Navigation Updater | Official Kia Motors Navigation Update Website) is not yet active and this site (http://www.kia.com/SoftwareUpgrade) is no longer available. The MnSOFT site (Kia Mapcare | Customer Login) did not provide a selection for a 2021 Telluride (only 2021 selection was for a Seltos) and selecting 2020 just said that there were no software updates available for the Telluride.
The current software versions are:
Model: ONAS.S5BMC.USSoftware Version: ON.USA.S5W_M.V003.002.190813Firmware Version: ON.USA.292.190613.MICOM.DNavigation App Version: STD5W.NAM.KMC.190603.88dad734Map Version: NAM.12.47.44.510.205.3
These all look to be 2019 versions (190813, 190613, 190603) if I'm interpreting Kia's naming convention right.
I took the car to a Kia dealer yesterday and they plugged the car in and reported that I have the latest software/firmware.
We love the car... but can't believe that we can't get more local information without plugging in our phones!
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
Mike
