No update on VINS since May 15? Software issue? KIA issue?
Great question, a lot of us have been wondering this ourselves. Some users have found VINs that have been created with window stickers at local dealerships that aren’t found on the VIN lookup tool. It sounds like the tool is glitching, but I don’t think anyone knows for certain what’s going on. It very well could be on KIA’s end too.No update on VINS since May 15? Software issue? KIA issue?
Fair points. I’m definitely not mad or anything, just slightly depressed, lol. I thought I had heard that it was created by someone on here in their free time, but wasn’t sure. And I could see KIA blocking it, I’m sure dealerships are getting tons of calls saying they saw their VIN has popped and wonder when they’ll be getting their vehicle.App was made by an individual in his spare time. As a software developer, making an app and/or debugging is not a 'quick' or 'easy' thing to do or everyone who has a great app idea would do it (always love the sticker shock from non tech people when quoting an app out, and also the shock of time estimate). That said, dude probably hasn't had time from his personal life/work to look into it, and a quick guess from me is maybe KIA blocked the app from scraping.
No doubt, my sales dude asked me how I knew my vehicle was produced/getting ready to ship when I sent him window sticker in message with a "see you in a few weeks" text, lol.

Did the same with my dealer, they were amazed. The GM was interested in what we were able to look up. He was very open about the whole process so it was fun sharing intel.
I guess I am a little surprised that more dealers/sales people aren't aware of this. It seems to me that some innovative and opportunistic dealers/sales folks on here, and there are many, understand that this forum is a great conduit for sales. I know the Telly practically sells itself, but it won't always, and I think that we will see the same delay's and slowdowns with the 2021 (ala second wave of covid), that we saw with the 2020's and I think that there will be folks that will be doing what most of us have been doing on these boards, for many moons to come.
That's how I snagged my Moss SXP so quickly after determining that I didn't want to wait on my original order (late Feb....projected late July del.).
Hat's off to the dealers on this site and to the other dedicated folks keeping the flow of information going in the right direction.

Salespeople are too narrow minded and want a sale without investing time..I guess I am a little surprised that more dealers/sales people aren't aware of this. Many have come here and left...
Always pride myself in being a sales consultant which means I rather educate and inform with no intent of only getting a sale..
Integrity and honor will always produce results...
Been the backbone of my career.. Try to teach as many sales professionals as I can mentor that the little things make all the difference.
Now what I didn't know joining this forum(first one I have been apart of) Is that there are so many individuals here that are wicked smart and put together spreadsheets and algorithms that I use to learn.. I have definitely learned more here than I have taught and I LOVE that.
It's nice to see someone like yourself try to do more than just glad hand folks... I've run into a few like you, but far too few. I really feel let down when I go into a dealership and know more about the product then the guy selling it. It just doesn't take a whole lot of time to spend some time reading and looking up information about what you sell. Granted, it is easier for the buyer, we are looking at ONE vehicle, not the entire line of products. That would make it tougher indeed. But, just learn about them, take the time, especially on those slow days when there are NO customers around. See way to many times where the sales guys are just standing around for long amounts of time and just shooting the breeze with each other instead of maybe learning something about their vehicle. <rant off> Thanks for being here Stephen and for being open with everyone. Ever find yourself out my way, coffee is on me.
Yeah I’m on the other one as well. But quickly realized back in March 2019 that this is the one to be apart of. So spent very minimal time on the other./agreed
also, FWIW, I belong to this forum and to another one (tellurideforum.org) and I have learned exponentially more here, than there. It is a weird paradigm, to me, the difference in the 2 forums. The other one is NOTHING like this one.
ok done.
I am new to this Forum and you have got my interest with the Lookup tool. How would I go about getting it. I am amazed at the posts about it.Looks to be another slow day on the Lookup tool...yay

I ordered my SXP AWD wTow early Feb. and have not heard anything from my Dealer in Houma, La. Would love to find out something from Lookup tool.
Thanks for any info
Thanks so much for your help Sr. BadRabbit. So I put in my order for SX AWD Prestige w/Towing and Dune Brown Leather on 02/21/2020 and since mySuper low volume dealer. They've only had one since shutdown. I'd prepare for a 2021 and/or find a new dealer.
