WANTED Looking for Telluride - Central Texas

Been looking at the Telluride for a while now. At the point that we need a replacement for my wife's car.

Looking for a White SX-P, AWD with Towing Package with any color interior other than butterscotch. Located in Central Texas. Local dealers want 5K over MSRP but I'm only willing to go to MSRP over slightly over ($1K).

I'm trying to find a Moss Green SX-P and Towing and they are difficult to find. Not going to pay over MSRP so I may be waiting awhile, but in a couple years, when they are 3k under MSRP I will be glad I waited.

Unless of course MSRP is $3k higher than today. Which is very possible. Already since I purchased in August, MSRP+Delivery for SX-P has increased by $725. And, incentives have been reduced another $1500 - so net total I'd be paying at least $2225 more if I purchased today. But, there will be used models in a couple of years. In any case, when production starts up again next week, I'd use forum tools to find a vehicle if you want to purchase this year.

Your best bet is to reach out to @StephenCantrelle at Classic Kia Carrollton or @DonovanHuffinesCorinth Donovan Castillo at Huffines Corinth.

Their SX-P orders are likely sold already, but a few people are backing out of orders. Unfortunately for you though, they likely prioritize existing customers with orders when one does become available. They often post in the Dealer Inventory section when they have something available.p

Otherwise, you can use the forum tools (VIN Lookup and TellyStats sites to find your desired trim once production resumes.)

You've likely been dealing with Southwest Kia - they ask markups on in-stock vehicles, but they receive many SX-Ps, so there's a trade-off. With time and effort you can find your desired trim at list price, but it may take a few months now that production has been halted for a month.

Also, watch out for used models and demos coming available. They will often be posted in Dealer Inventory section of forum.

Eventually supply and demand will equalize and dealerships will be willing to sell under MSRP - and as supply and demand equalize - KIA will be less likely to raise prices on the Telluride until an all new model or trim is announced.

Are they still asking above MSRP?
Better to wait till Oct or Nov. You might get better deals

Seriously! That is as good an advertisement as any I have seen for a new car. By the way - do you like your lighted sill plates? I have those on my order sheet for whenever the 2021 order books open up. So few pictures of those available. It seems not very many people get this option. But I love this feature when seen on other vehicles.

we really like the lighted scuff plates, I couldn't imagine not having them now. It adds a nice touch to the overall feel of the vehicle and also IMO helps you see when getting in/out at night.

Shoot us a pic, at night, if you think of it Did you install them yourself? Of all the aftermarket accessories that I have contemplated adding, that scuff plates are what I was interested in. If you did install, was it easy? I just assume that you pop out the other ones and there is power underneath? Thanks for the info!

I ordered mine to be installed by KIA.

I actually searched and found a ton of pics and info on them. So disregard my request for pics! The one persistent issue that people had were that the passenger side only lights up if the driver door is open. I would love to get that clarified. Either way, I am going to start looking for a set.
