• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2021 Telluride

All black and off road version would be nice. Appeal to more ppl. I'd get some of the off road upgrades

What makes sense is that we won't be seeing the 2021MY until after the summer shut-down when the re-tooling is done for the next MY, including next gen models like the K5 and Sorento.

Doubt will ever see a TT (V6) Telluride; more likely to see a turbo-4.

I read at some forum about the vibration issues in Telluride at a certain speed.
Hope that gets fixed in the 2021 inventory.

I thought the initial reason they were shutting down in early April was for re-tooling. Then it got extended because of the covid-19 virus.

I ordered mine in mid February and had an estimated delivery date assigned of June 24. About a week ago I got a revised delivery date estimate of 7/28. I will not be surprised if it moves again.
Same dates for me but I was told mine would be a 2021

I spoke to Kia of Cary and they told me that all June Tellurides in US will be 2020 no exceptions. This dealer is known to be confused but they were so adamant that 2021 are not going to be delivered in June - absolutely not. Factory was not retooled. So what is real story. I need 7 point harness and improved heater from 2021 model.

Major retooling is related to the Optima/K5 and Sorrento replacements for 2021. The minor changes for the Telluride from 2020 to 2021 probably don't require retooling. Just minor parts changes and supplier inventory for those parts.

And yeah - I believe that June production will only be for 2020's. KIA has been converting orders over the last several weeks moving people from 2020 production to 2021 production. That means they are working to adjust for a targeted date for when 2021's will start rolling down the assembly line.

I see, looks like the 2021 delivery is not know then? Do I need to push my place in line out or does it mean cancelling and re-ordering? My buddy has 2020 AWD SX in Chicago and on the long winter roadtrips at highway speeds heater was not adequate.

You don't need to push your place in line. If you don't have an ETA then you are getting a 2021. KIA stopped taking 2020 orders back in March. They will finish the sold orders they have for the 2020 model year and then start producing the 2021's. When that will happen - anyone's guess. Need to get the plant back to full production capacity first.

Interesting. I guess that is why they changed it for the 2021 model year. Being down in San Antonio, TX - that 2021 model year change was of no interest to me - but I guess for folks in northern climates - I can see why that would be a big deal. I just want my SXP delivered this summer!!

Maybe we can trade-places:) I have my 2020 SXP ETA June 20th, but I need 2021 as I need tow 7-point harness, heater and remote with remote start. I drive south to north IL and WI frequently in the middle of the winter and need that heater.

If you have an eta for end of June and its as recent as this week then its a 2020. 2021s won't be here until end of summer earliest. Production to begin in July looks like.

For what it’s worth, I had an ETA for beginning of June in April, then got pushed back to end of June a few weeks ago, then this past Friday I was told I’d be getting a 2021, with a new ETA of early July. I don’t think an ETA for a 2021 in early July lines up, so I’m still not really sure what’s going on, but we shall see.

Well looks like, I have to negotiate the new contract, perhaps they can give my 2020 SXP to someone who is ahead of me and I will take first 2021 spot. I will keep you guys posted what the dealer would say tomorrow.

This is huge...the first concrete information from KIA since the 2021 training material. So in summary - it looks like pricing is coming out soon "early June" and then production will start in late June (most likely early July - if we are being realistic) for the 2021 units. @StephenCantrelle @Jason Fox are you seeing the same information at your dealership?

I’m the one who posted it. 😉

I was informed on Friday that my order (from Feb with an original June delivery extended to July delivery) has been cancelled by Kia. With the ordering window for 2021's not opening for a couple weeks or so, I am now in limbo...very bummed.

Your dealership SHOULD put in your same order for a 2021 when KFOS (hopefully) opens this month for orders. You SHOULD keep your same place in line that you were already in, it’s just now you’ll have to wait until production begins (rumors state they should start producing 21s sometime in late June into July). At least that’s how my dealership is handling it.

Of course you did! @StephenCantrelle Not sure how I missed this on Friday!! Thank you!
