• THIS SECTION IS ONLY FOR DISCUSSIONS RELATING TO BUYING A TELLURIDE. PLEASE USE A DIFFERENT SECTION FOR POSTING MESSAGES ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN BUYING A TELLURIDE. THANK YOU!

  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

@StephenCantrelle This might be total BS but a local dealer just told me he can get 2021 orders into the system tomorrow...

Wait for it...not sure if he forgot that I want an SX-P...
I will let you know tomorrow if I see anything.. but not holding my breath .. if it’s open I tell you one thing won’t be taking my day off haha. Will be getting to work with a quickness.

It’s killing me, it’s eating me from inside. There is nothing I can do! My credit score already dropped twice from these 2 dealers. Im gonna go under 750 by the time i get one. Im calling tomorrow to request my deposit at the moment. I dont wanna wait, that’s my money!
I'd contact your state's Attorney General's office and report this.

WTF is the difference between the Snow White and Glacial White?!? Are they really keeping both colors in?
SWP is more of a stark white (my preference) vs. GWP being slightly cream colored, off white. Just my opinion. My order will be GWP SX NE. Is that enough acronyms? Lolz

At this point - nothing would surprise me. 2021 Prestige trims are now rolling off the line regularly - so parts availability doesn't seem to be an issue. Also - I find it weird that they decided to open up the 2021 Telluride configurator on KIA.com today - but they didn't put it int he 2021 section with the K5 which is also in production and at dealerships. At the end of the day - I have given up trying to figure out KIA's methodology. LOL.

Believe me - if I get the call from @StephenCantrelle that my order was finally accepted into KFOS - I will let the forum know ASAP.

They could have the parts required to fill Prestige orders that were converted to 2021s. They may not have parts available to start churning out new orders.

Remember that they planned to build more lower trims from the get go and were able to secure more supplies to build more higher trims than they had planned mid year. With extra production capacity geared toward higher trims, it's possible that they have excess material available for lower trims. Probably why we are seeing so many LX and S models and black/grey interiors to start the model year. (Planned as volume units, had less takers than planned.) Also, the lower trims having synthetic leather could make the material easier to source.

A manufacturer has a plan to produce X units of a specific vehicle. They then place an order with a parts supplier (Company A) who sets a production plan to fill the order. Perhaps they require parts from another supplier (Company B) who sets a production plan. If the original manufacturer changes their plan, every parts supplier in the chain needs to adjust. In manufacturing, it's not like you can just always flip a switch and deviate from your plan. With so many different parts between different trims and packages, it could be one part that could be holding them back from producing a certain package.

Exactly. And let’s not forget that Covid changed everything. It’s not just a Georgia plant that shut down - it could have been the Nappa leather supplier, or the HUD supplier, or the captains chairs, etc. All these things are projected and ordered months in advance but if there’s a breakdown anywhere then the whole thing collapses. And that’s just the logistics side of thing - what if covid closures caused the nappa factory to go out of business? Now some poor soul at Kia is scrambling for a replacement.

Yeah its a catch 22... find a dealer who works at MSRP but wait list is usually unreal because of that.. again if you haven't spoken to anyone yet from the Huffines group reach out to @DonovanHuffinesCorinth and ask to see how many are in line
We have so many in line. Dear God.

I do have an SX sitting on my lot that’s available

Let’s see how many seconds it last

I'm finding it more and more common that dealers don't have vehicles I'm calling for on their sheets (manifests, allocations - not sure the exact language).

Any idea why - If Kia is generating those VINs overnight...why wouldn't the dealers know about the vehicle?

By the way, you know your website says "Find Your Next Kia in Coninth, TX" instead of Corinth?

My SXP order includes towing. Does not look like there any VINS with towing today. In fact, you have to go back to 7/10 before you see any significant number of VINS with towing. Hmm..............................

Can anyone tell me (or attach) what a build sheet looks like? Is there a standard Kia format? Or is it dealer specific? Basically, outside of using the Kia vehicle builder and jotting down what I want, is there a template that we can use to build it and then hand to dealer for ordering?

Just use the website and write down what you want. There aren't that many options. There is no official build sheet. There are option codes which are a bit confusing - your dealer will order using those codes, but nothing standard. Examples of order sheets from dealers (Kdealer requests) have been posted on the forum.

@disweds12 Here’s a copy of the sheet my dealer provided after submitting a Kdealer request for me. Redacted my personal info.

7 pin adapter part delay perhaps. Vs 2020 4 pin.
