If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Nice! Yeah I found the owners manual for the DVD headrests and would probably splurge if we had kids who were ready to use it. Will probably just do the tablet holders for now. Enjoy. I don't even need to test drive it to know this is the best whip on the market right now. Always thought I'd be a Toyota guy for life but their SUV team is almost certainly freaking out right now. Good luck on the purchase if you go that route!

This is the cupholder and floor lighting. The strips on the dash and doors are standard with any SX model.

If you price out a wolf gray SX + Prestige + Nightfall + every single accessory except rear seat entertainment, it's $53,195 including destination. Adding ~$4k for tax and title, etc still leaves you a bit short of $60k. What else are they hitting you up for?

Thanks for the info about the lighting package. Probably just arbitrary dealer markup, but I'm not much of a haggler. Oh well.

Thank you! I was gonna do the Black Copper SXP but once I saw the wolf gray nightfall, it was an easy upsell haha.

Here are the 6 I chose. These are my educated guesses as to the most "difficult" to install, or things you'd want finished before the local Kia puts their hands on it:
  • Interior Light Kit, Multicolored
    • Still don't know if this refers to the cupholder/floorboard multi-colored lights or just the thin LED wire on the doors. We'll see.
  • Illuminated Scuff Plates
  • Front Alloy Skid Plate
  • Towing Package
  • Cross Bars
  • Side Step Bars
Upon delivery, we'll be asking to install these things:
  • Cargo Seatback Up Mat
  • Cargo Tray, Folding
    • I assume you can "stack" these, only busting out the all-weather looking folding mat when all the seats are down.
  • Mud Guard Kit (front and rear)
  • Rear Bumper Protector
  • All Weather Floor Mats
  • Wheel Locks
  • Glove, Smart Key Fob
The $500 deposit is non-refundable. It's a lot of money, but A) that's what it costs to be on "the list" for this ultra-high-demand car, and B) if something bad happens and we have to back out, we still have until February to make that decision, and "losing" the $500 is worth getting off the hook for a 72-month note, no questions asked. Not unlike being out $500 the inspection of a new house you don't end up buying. Just the cost of doing business.

I just posted this to the "what'd you pay for your Kia" thread, but we're likely slightly above MSRP. Considering we basically went all out on this car - sparing no expense except the overpriced rear seat entertainment package ($1500) - plus around $4K for TT&L, the "out the door" price will be right around $60K. It's a lot, but to quote the dealer: "Everyone's gotta feed their family", which we understand.

We plan to have this car 10+ years, visit every national park etc. with our growing family (6-week-old firstborn and any other babies after). We were made for this Telluride.

Expecting radio silence from the dealership for the rest of 2020 so just waiting it out until then, but if you have any more questions I'll try to answer!
I have "just" the SX but not missing anything in my opinion, but then again I don't care about HUD or rain sensing wipers or even rear heated/cooled seats. That said if my only choice was SX Prestige or wait for months for a T'ride I would have taken the SXP in a heartbeat.
Congrats !!! Sounds like a beautiful unique car your gonna have. We were going back and forth on the wolf grey or the everlasting silver. We chose the silver cause the wife didn't want a light color. Both are distinguished and make great color schemes with the nightfall package.

This is our long term car also. Have had a sportage with our 1 yr old but with a baby on the way and 2 dogs we need some more space. This will be our car we raise the kids with also. Congratulations!! Cant wait to see the pics.

So since there are very few orders In for Wold Grey tellurides, and they start making them in aug-sept, wouldn't you think it would be much sooner than 2021 to receive? I would like to think this is the case anyway, as I put my order in last week on it.

Who knows honestly. As said here before the mothership does what the mothership wants. The training material was calling the Nightfall edition the Black edition and SWP was being replaced with glacier white pearl for 2021. So far all the 2021s have been SWP in color with the $100 price increase to boot. Wouldn't be surprised if Wolf gray starts showing up on dealer lots in August.

According to the dealer model/accessory code sheet posted when the 2021 info started to leak out, SWP is slated to end production in July, and GWP takes over in August. We are not yet to August, which is why every white 2021 you’ve seen has been SWP. Additionally, Wolf Gray is to begin production in September. Obviously anything can happen, but I can’t see those being delivered much before the end of that month. And who knows if the first bunch of Wolf Gray will be random allocation units or actual ones that might have been ordered by customers. Good news is, the only choices with Wolf Gray are do you want towing or not and do you want Prestige or not. Otherwise, they’ll all be Nightfall editions with black interiors.

For those that put deposits, how much was it, and was it refundable?

There are so many possibilities here. If you've been talking with Nutley, they may have asked for 10% down. That was post #4 in the Nutley thread. My dealership asked for the same thing. I said you can have $500 refundable. They said fine. Another dealership asked for $300 check. I think $1000 is the norm now, and I would ask for it to be refundable. Some places require $2k non refundable for an incoming VIN. I would say decide what you are comfortable with and make a deal. Personally, I wouldn't leave 10% on an open ended order (no VIN, no ETA, no allocation) (but maybe leave that much on an incoming VIN - because I have an ETA). In any case, I'd insist on a contract that meets your terms.

Thanks for that intel. I would be putting an order for a car that is well equipped that would likely be 6 months to delivery. I definitely am not interested in putting 10% down that is not refundable.

The only way I'd do a nonrefundable deposit is if the car were built and delivery was imminent. There are so many things that could change in even a months time like job loss or medical issues.

Also, I'd only do it if paying cash. You'd hate to lose out on the money because financing fell through or the terms were poor. You give up any speck of leverage in negotiation that you may have. They know you have to buy or walk away from your deposit.

Dealer told me ETA for my Wolf Grey SX-P with tow is Oct 13...

That would be great! When did you order it?

I am still confused on whether or not you can order the SX AWD Wolf Grey WITHOUT the Prestige package..... I have been told both ways, but the kia.com build page only allows you to configure the SX Wolf Grey with the Prestige package which I'm told by a sales rep is exactly the case then. Too bad because I really do not want/need the prestige package. But now I'm noticing on the build site that most other SX Nightfall requires the Butterscotch interior (Gravity Grey, Black Copper, Everlasting Silver, Snow White Pearl). Grrrr, why is KIA limiting the configuration on these Nightfall models and why on earth wouldn't they include black interior on a Nightfall package??? I'm ready to buy, but just can't find the exact configuration I'm happy with.....frustrating....

Effectively, if you forget about the towing package, you can only get Wolf gray one of three ways:

1. EX Premium AWD w/black leather
2. SX AWD w/black leather
3. SX Prestige AWD w/ black nappa leather

Obviously the Nightfall edition would be a requirement because Wolf gray is only available that way. Choose to add the tow package or leave it off.

That’s it for Wolf gray.

The moral of the story is to never believe what the Kia online configurator, it is riddled with errors. Also, never believe what any salesperson tells you. At best, trust but verify. But never blindly believe what they may tell you.

Hopefully that helps to clear things up.

Thanks. Are you a dealer? How do you know you can order the Wolf Grey SX AWD without Prestige? As you said, trust but verify!! :-)

So assuming you are correct, I guess I will keep looking for a dealer in 250 mile radius of Kansas City that sells at MSRP, can commit to order me a Wolf Grey SX AWD Nightfall (NO Prestige) and have enough allocation I can get it in 3-5 months. ....#thequestcontinues....

Keep on the quest. But, unlikely to happen with an "order". Keep your eyes out for an unsold allocation. You'll likely be paying above MSRP for a Wolf Grey initially if it's unsold. We won't know until October when they start showing up. The training materials all stated that what the above poster said is true.

Not a dealer, just an owner and enthusiast.

My best source is what Stephen posted in this thread about the new 2021 colors.

I think he may have removed one or more of the helpful documents he originally posted because people could not figure them out and were asking incessant stupid questions. Chances are some dealers are having difficulty understanding, as well, which may be why you’re not getting good information.

The first post in that thread, however, is all you need to answer your question. It shows Wolf gray only being available with a black interior in EX-Premium, SX, and SX-Prestige.

I just came from a dealership and saw a K5 wolf gray with wolf gray interior. Both outside and the inside color were amazing. I wouldnt do it like that myself but other combos would work. I didnt realize wolf gray was going to be a future option. Wolf gray nightfall would be fire. I just texted the dealer to send me those wolf gray pics to get a good idea of the color to post here in the forum. I like that its a clean look. One thing that I am not a huge fan of on some of the colored Tellurides is how “shiny” or “reflective” they are. Takes away from the presentation imo. The Wolf Gray solves that. I did find what seems to be a Telluride Wolf Gray not Nightfall in a Google search. Pic attached. Gives you an idea of the clean color. 🔥🔥

Edit: Confirmed pic I attached is not Wolf Gray (sorry) but just keeping it for conversational context.

That is not Wolf gray. It is everlasting silver (or as the Canadians call it, everlasting grey). That is a 2020 Canadian model. You’ll see more pictures of it if you follow the link through to the website that picture is from (they’re all the way at the bottom).
