• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Remote start

Haven't tried determining the range or how long it runs yet...

If the range isn't long enough with the OEM fob, will upgrade to one of the longer range optional fobs later...

As long as the run time is minimum of 10 minutes, that'll work...

Either/or is still worthwhile for no wire splicing...

Call them direct... they may be looking for someone to help them out...

He bought the non-takeover for OEM remote. So pretty much same range as he had before with OEM remote. Probably 100 foot or less.

I guess you are right. Looking at the installation instructions that @bogie provided, the programming doesn't involve any interaction with the key FOB. As long as it's not a reduction, I'm happy with that!

I read through their website.. seems like this for a specific set of VINs only.. I am going to still message them and see

Wow thanks guys! I was in the forum early on and was looking for this when we bought back in Aug 2019. I gave up after upgrading my bulbs. @bogie does it shutoff if you open the trunk?

edit - guys/gals who installed with the Smart phone app, hows the UI look on the phone?

Some additional info from my experience so far:
- 100' +\- line of sight - 3X Lock pizza....pizza....pizza (as opposed to pizza.pizza.pizza; i.e. slowly 3 not rapidly 3) worked.
---- did not work from the back of the house, approx same distance but not line of sight
- tailgate would not open by proximity
---- started the process (the warning beeps) which then shut off the remote start - pressed the tailgate button to open.
---- did not try opening the tailgate via the fob with remote start running
- 1 month left on UVO app - it still works to start the vehicle

hopes this helps...

I guess that's why they sell the 100'+ extended range kits :) Thank you for the confirmation!

Haven't tried further away yet - will update as I can

Here is a screen shot of the Car Link app that is used if you get the smart app option. Seems to works much faster than UVO. There are buttons for start, stop, lock and unlock. Someone asked in an earlier post about the run time. In the app there is a 15 minute timer which counts down and doesn't look like it can be adjusted. It shows the status of your locks and battery. If you swipe up on the carrot at the bottom of the screen there is a link to a map there that shows your vehicle location and a link to enter in your dealer information. Also the commands are 2 way so you can set it up to be notified either by sound or vibration when the vehicle completes the command. Pretty happy with it.

Thanks! @James216 that seems like the way we’re leaning towards to get the 3xlock to start and the remote app for $449. (Before the discount)

Just now purchased the Plug and Play 3-lock version, no takeover. Looking forward to having the ability right on my FOB.

SmartPhone App Control = Start your car from your smartphone from anywhere in the world. First year FREE and then a service plan is required - $39.99/year & 3x lock from the OEM remote fob will work as well.

Takeover with app will be delivered today 👍
I'm curious to see where those 2 wires go to get connected.

Will do bogie. As soon as it is delivered

well that was easy....
for non takeover atleast. 10 mins done
1. use included tool to drop pass side lower dash cover
2. ( for better visual access) open glove box remove side plugs, remove little pin on rt side, fold down. you can now see the red and green connectors from top while out hand in from bottom.
3. unclip red connector. clip into remote start harness red conn. plug remote start red plug back into module
4. repeat for green conn.
5. programming follow there sheet but simple
close all doors and hit start button twice with NO BRAKE to put into ignition on mode. RS module box lights red then green. turn off ign. open and close doors door. with module in hand (it will reach) start truck and HOLD BRAKE pedal. once idle settles down press little button on side of module. light turns red then green then out. programming is done!
now lock...lock...lock starts and stops remote start operation!
yes once unlocked engine dies but for how easy this was and zero splicing im ok with it

BOGIE thank you for getting this all put together and keeping us all in the loop!!
