Just got informed that my order got accepted by KIA. ETA given to me as of now is November. Let's see how that holds up. Getting excited even though it's just the beginning of long wait for me but relieved that my order got accepted!

Presume you went into KFOS in August? What date in Nov is your ETA?

Yeah in August. My dealer does it through kdealer and not KFOS. Not a specific date as of now except beginning of November as informed to me. Will update once I get a date.

You may want to double check with them.

They put the orders into KDealer and then around the middle of every month the dealer gets an allocation in KFOS which they assign orders from KDealer to their KFOS allocation. At this point it is an official order with demand for Kia Production and you can get an expected ETA - Day & Month

All dealers need to use KFOS.

You're right @Tobstertx3. The order was placed through KDealer and as you said it must have got accepted in KFOS this month because my guy had informed me last week that they received allocation slots for August. Will follow up for ETA day and month. Thanks!

I am pretty sure orders have been filled by Kia directly out of KDealer before.

good work man! KIA seems to love S production. You would think it will be smart to pump out the expensive Trims but it's more practical to produce what most buyers can easily afford! Just stop pumping too much of the nightfalls and ramp up SXP and EXP. The wait is too much!!

Yeah - when you look at the same data in a graphical format - you can really see the huge ramp up of S models KIA did this summer. It was a dealer inventory push probably to clear out 2020 inventory as they produced them at a higher rate than previous months sales. Thankfully that number is coming back down to historical levels so they can meet the still pent up demand for EX Premium, SX and SX Prestige models. I get it that they are trying to balance getting inventory to dealers - but demand has remained very strong for EXP and above trims. Those top three trims were more than 50% of production in Q1 - before the COVID nightmare.

Congratulations! Did your dealer send you any paperwork or printout ? If so what did it look like. I also got a screenshot from my dealer that says a chassis number has been created for the order. However there was no ETA on it.

My allocation got accepted and it took another 4-5 days before I got an order number because it went in toward the allocation process.

Our EXP was delivered to Kia of Muncie today (8/19), 12 days earlier than the 8/31 ETA we got with our VIN. We're heading to Indiana this weekend--can't wait! We ordered on 3/17.

Interesting, I wonder if the dealership's ETA is just a made up date. I guess as long as you have the month the exact date doesn't matter? Can any dealers confirm this? Or do you guys actually get a specific date once entered into KFOS? If so, how do you explain why some people are getting different ETA, even earlier ETA, when entered in later for the same trims? Or maybe the color plays a role as well?

It’s an Estimated Time of Arrival
