Nicked my bumper...

So something nicked my bumper...I assume a shopping cart or something. Anyone have a quick fix to cover this up? Does not have to be perfect, just less obvious. Maybe I can color match the paint?

Come to think of it, it might have been at the dealer today whilst getting my oil change. Anyone ever had any issues like this with a dealer? Are there cameras? I guess a the end of the day it would be my word against theirs. The shop seemed to be pretty big and nicely spaced out. Just not sure if anyone has ever had an issue like that. This morning I unloaded groceries and did not see it, it's so noticeable. Oy very.....

I once read a different forum and someone said always have the service manager walk around the car with you before hand so if any thing did happen during service he can't say that was there.

Check with your dealer to see if they sell touch-up paint for your color (everlasting silver?). I did that with my mustang back in the day, and was about to buy a small bottle (size of a sharpie pen) of the actual color for touchups. In fact, I think I just saw touchup paint for tellurides and an accessory earlier today. Someone will chime in I'm sure.

Definitely no. The chrome-ish looking paint on the bumper fascia is not Everlasting Silver. It sort of a rear skid plate made of plastic?

If you want it to match, I would suggest you contact your local dealer who could recommend a good body shop (they may have one) or fine a other local body shop who can give you an estimate for the repair. They can also research the paint color. It's definitely not a body color and none of the paint pens listed above will help.

An alternative to painting if Kia isn't going to sell any touch paint, is to find a close to matching vinyl wrap and take that rear skid plate piece off, fill in the gouge with some hardening plastic bumper filler for about $20, and either have it vinyl wrapped a matching color or try to wrap it yourself. One role of silver looking film costs about $20 and a heat gun is about $20-40. But you can probably take it to a vinyl wrap shop and get it done for cheap.

I'm all for making it look original with paint, but if I paid someone $300-500 to professionally paint it and week later scratched it again, I would be pissed. Vinyl wraps are scratch resistant and would likely hide your scratch.

You can also vinyl wrap it black to match the plastic bumper like the Nightfall Edition.

(The eBay ads selling salvage parts with these rear skid plates are wrong when they describe the color as Everlasting Silver. But you can buy them off of eBay for $80-150, search for: "86670S9010" telluride. There's just no guarantee that what you buy won't have a scratch or get scratched.)

Nicked my lower front bumper trim on my NE this morning. Does anyone know if that color is Ebony Black or does the trim have a different name?

Nothing worse than fixing an issue and having it happen again. It's an area prone to damage. I see that this is backordered at this site but a search showed a few vendors having them.
