I actually found the car last week on a Facebook page and it was randomly the one I wanted so I texted him and went from there. The Facebook page is called Kia telluride buy sell trade.

So interesting dealing today. I saw a 2021 SX Nightfall listed for about $1500 below MSRP. I missed it wasn't a presitge package at first, so I asked about an SXP (Nightfall isn't important to me, but Prestige is). They had those, with a $7k markup. Now, I'm ok with $2k for the Prestige, but 9k is a bit much. But interesting the price difference just because of the Prestige package.

Agree that SoCal dealers are terrible, I went to Carson, Cerritos, and Huntington Beach. Besides high markups, they won’t take orders. Found dealer in Colorado with $700 above msrp. I visit son anyway, so placed an order. I’ll see what happens when SX N/P/T arrives.

I just got a SX Nightfall Snow White with Espresso Brown Interior. $3K above MSRP. Had to go to South Carolina to pick it up. Not usually a fan of White but love the way it looks with the blacked out details.

When I went to the dealer they tried to sell me EX for 51000. Funny thing, their Internet sales guy sent out an inventory of Tellurides in route and did so with about 3-4K mark up. Then 2 days later he must have not gotten much response because he sent out the same list for MSRP. I jumped on that and scored myself a Black SXP with Nightfall and Dune nappa (love that color so much). I win! He had another one just like it and Gravity gray SXP with Nightfall someone snatched up before me (I think I might have gotten that over black on black). Those are gone now though. But all went for MSRP! And it is coming in early September! So excited about this.

Best of luck with it. White wasn't my first choice but the more I look at it the more I love it. You can really see the brilliant/cut glass look of the paint job when it's in the sun.

I paid $41k for my Telluride S in the Atlanta area. Feeling like I got screwed, but I couldn't find a single dealership with them in stock or without a hefty markup. I paid a $5k markup over MSRP, but they did some work on our trade-in by giving us about $1k over what we probably should have gotten. And we got them to throw in crossbars. Still, feeling a little sour about that after reading people getting them at MSRP, though maybe Atlanta is a different beast.

I think it is pretty much the same situation in most major metro areas. Heck, in the whole state of Arizona you cannot buy a Telluride without markup AND dealer addons.

$5K markup on an S trim?! That is pretty steep. Especially since KIA pumped out S trims like crazy in June and July. I suspect those were the most available at any dealership in the country this summer. I fully support the free market and the laws of supply and demand - but these dealerships need to balance out customer retention as well. I can kinda see a markup on the rarest trim if you happen to have it on the lot - but the S...the one they have built the most of this year?! That is just a greedy dealership taking advantage of someone that doesn't want to take a road trip to find one at MSRP. Feel badly for you. I assume you had some sort of timing restrictions and had to buy yours right then.

Even for an S model? If you consider the EX Premium, SX Prestige and the Nightfall EX, SX and Prestige as trim variations...the S is one of the lowest trim but highest volume models KIA sells. In most cases you would see the steepest markups on the highest trims with the lowest volume.

I guess I just haven't paid attention to the lower trim markups. This is shocking. I would be marching over to the Hyundai dealership and getting a Palisade before I would pay these prices.
