Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

I have to make a post for my new whip when I finally get a second but I wanted to give a quick shout out to Lion Country Kia in State College, PA. My salesman was Tyler. I called there after looking at failcat and found a Black/Gray SXP on July 14th. Called there and spoke with Tyler who said the vehicle was not spoken for and will be delivered in 3 weeks.. I put $500 down on my credit card and he sent me a picture of my receipt and the vehicle print out with my name on it. Not the most "secure" way of doing it but I trusted this guy from the start. We worked out our numbers over text messages and I took the 3hr drive to his dealership last Wednesday. I was in there for less than an hour and now a proud owner of a Telluride. The finance guy, Justin was also professional and no BS type guy. He offered me an extended warranty and Gap Insurance, I said no and we moved on. He didn't push me or get pissed or anything. They are selling at MSRP with no extra BS. I paid doc fee and registration fees for the temp tag. Nothing else. I just have to register the car myself beings they didn't have the hook-up with NJ to complete it.. Highly recommend. Yes, this car is worth every penny.

I called my salesman - He said it's officially in the system for production - Not sure what that means! Estimated date of Delivery is November - will have VIN in october, does this sound correct?

I just put a $1k deposit at Kia of Kirkland in Washington. No markup over MSRP. I've been communicating with them on upcoming inventory. Got lucky today and they said they had a moss with black interior coming on 8/22. I immediately put down the deposit.

Yes.

Hi everyone. I want to share my positive experience buying a 2021 Telluride SX-P Ebony Black/Dune Brown from Kia Of Bedford in Bedford, Ohio. My sales rep was Jay Lowe and he did a great job answering all my questions and text messages and made it the smoothest new car buying experience I've had in a long time. He sold at MSRP, no BS mandatory add-ons and no high pressure sales tactics. Finance was equally smooth- I was offered some additional options such as gap protection, road hazard, etc, but I declined all and we moved on without any sales pressure or push-back. Aside from sales tax, I only paid a registration and title filing fee for the temp tag ($70) and a reasonable document fee ($250). I highly recommend Jay Lowe and Kia of Bedford.

Hello,

I will update if anything changes. I ordered a SX-P today (Black with Dune interior) at Jim Shorkey Kia (www.jimshorkeykiawexford.com) in Wexford PA for MSRP. I worked with Raheem (724-741-1197) who was super great and very thorough. Everything went smoothly, no hidden charges. They explained every line in the contract, were willing to offer 48 month financing at 0.9% or 2.75% with $500 cash back. Delivery estimate is 8 weeks. $500 non-refundable deposit.

Sounds like we ordered the exact same car! Enjoy and I hope that everything goes smoothly from here on out for you.

I should have listed this ages ago, but we had a great experience buying from Andrew Lipp at Peak Kia North in Colorado. Stand up guy and easy transaction. We bought a SX in Everlasting Silver in December and have been loving it ever since.

After ordering in November, 2019 and picking up in Feb, 2020, I just had my 7,500 mile service from Wasatch Front Kia, Riverdale, Utah. The experience was great. Dropped off the car before they opened. Put the key in the mail slot and everything done by 11:00am. Total cost was $10.47 for tire rotation. I forgot that they include the first oil change with the purchase. Car washed of course. Still recommend them.

Just finished sales contract and financing paperwork remotely with Hilltop Kia in Richmond, CA. They charged MSRP for a Nightfall SX. I sent deposit info on July 14th and the Telly was delivered to Hilltop on Aug. 12th with no mark-up or dealer fees other than an $85 documentation fee which wasn't bad given that they paid to UPS overnight the paperwork back and forth. Plan on taking delivery from them on on Aug. 31st when I get back to CA.

Lewis Belt (internet sales) and Carlos (manager) helped me and it was a really straightforward process. Lewis has been really great and I highly recommend him. Will update again once I get the car and (knock on wood) no issues come up. Thanks again to the forum for all the great info.

Good to see you placed your order and moving forward with Telluride. I remember when you started the journey last March and we visited at the Plano store.. Curious to what Mckinney said wait time is for Prestige

Hi @StephenCantrelle

What's the wait on an SX-P for your store? Also, do your mark-ups apply for orders?

Interesting... when I reached out to them in July they were adding $3k markup. Glad they’ve changed their minds about that! (Though they lost a potential sale from me)

Great experience at Fuccillo Kia of Greece (Rochester NY)

Monday - filtered Failcat for my preferred combo made within the last 45 days (SX/P AWD in Everlasting Silver). Focused on dates from about a month ago b/c a newlikely would not have arrived at the dealership yet. Went to Fuccillo website and found that VIN in their online inventory list. Called and asked if it was available (yes!) and if it was at MSRP (also yes!). Told them I’d sleep on it.

Tuesday - called dealer first thing in the morning. Asked if still available (yes) and I put down a deposit on my cc.

Thursday - went over loan terms w the Fuccillo finance guy

Sunday - flew 1 hr to Rochester (from NYC area). Got picked up at the airport by Fuccillo sales mgr. Signed all the paper work in less than an hour. Drove 5 hrs home in my new 2021 Everlasting Silver SX-P Telluride.

[I can now cancel my special order Wolf Gray SXP NF with my local dealer. Sorry but I don’t have the patience to wait 6-8 months as they quoted me.]

I'm happy to post this. I've been on here since February, all the while hunting for a reasonable dealership near me (San Antonio, TX). Never had any luck.

I reached out to Stephen Cantrelle, based on his presence on this site. While his dealership has decided to charge a market adjustment, Stephen was a stand up dude and shot me straight. I'm sorry that I couldn't purchase from him. However, I finally reached out to Moritz in Fort Worth on Saturday and worked with Harry Draper almost exclusively through text message while watching a movie on the couch with my family. He told me up front exactly what they charge, what its for, how they order, and what the wait would be. It may not be for everyone, but at this point, I was good with it. Breakdown below.

  • 2021 Gravity Gray SXP Nightfall (AWD) w Gray Interior w Tow - $55,457.06 out the door
    • SXAWD $44,090
    • Tow Pkg $795
    • Nightfall $1,295
    • Prestige Pkg $2,300
    • Floor Mats $210
    • Cargo Net $50
    • Cargo Seatback Protection $115
    • Mudguards $115
    • Rear Bumper Protector $120
    • Destination $1,170

    • $50,260

    • This is the part I would normally have a problem with, but I am willing to live with it at this point
      • Dealer Prep Package (Nitrogen in tires - I get it, but eye roll; Window tint/Ceramic tent)
      • They do this on all of their vehicles, not just the Telluride.
      • Being where we are with Telluride pricing, I've decided to be okay with it. Wanted tint anyway and there seems to be some added value with the ceramic tint product.
      • $1,898
    • $52,158

    • Military Rebate ($400)

    • $51,758

    • TT&L $3,699.06
    • Out the Door $55,457.06
Again, I'm not claiming to have received a screaming deal or anything, but the transaction was painless and I'm okay with the price for what I'm getting. Happy to have an order placed.

In summary, under $2K markup to get fully loaded Telluride now or soon. Not too bad compared to most dealerships in TX.

Enjoy it!

Thanks for the info. I live in Sacramento, CA and I just reached out to Lewis. Out here they're going anywhere between 6,000-10,000 above MSRP.

I'm also in Sacramento and have an SX reserved with Moe at Hilltop at MSRP. ETA was 10/2, but just slipped to 10/30. To the best of my knowledge, they are the only dealer in all of California that will do MSRP.
