Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

I followed up yesterday to see if anything changed and he said indications are that 20 weeks is still the estimate (T-minus 15 weeks now). There have been a good number of EX AWDs (NE and non-NE) coming through Failcat in the last month so hopefully we stay on track.
Thank you for the update!

Has anyone had any experience with with Kia of Murfreesboro (Tennessee)? Or any other dealers in Central Tennessee?

yes, both Greenway Kia dealers are charging/asking $10K over MSRP.

Happy to help - let me know what you hear from Murfreesboro if you call/go
I've talked to Kia of Murfreesboro dealership sales and their attitude is "first come first served". Said they don't take custom orders therefore no list of orders pending!

In the process of buying a 2021 white SX with black interior and nightfall with tow at MSRP!! Working with a dealer in Pueblo Colorado- Spradley Kia. His name is Vincent and he has been soooo easy to work with super upfront and answers any questions. Not doing a trade in so I can’t say anything about that process but I am sure it would be just as easy. Husband is flying there next week to pick it up and he offered to pick him up at the airport!

Hendrick KIA of Cary (could we start a mediocre dealer thread?)

I will begin by saying this review is here and not in the "bad dealer" thread because they really helped us out the past few weeks while we completed a mortgage refinance (started it back in May and was a fiasco not to close back in June like promised) and could not take immediate delivery. They kept their word, didn't test drive it with anybody and didn't sell it out from under us in nearly three weeks. So props there. I did however go in before the "end of the month" of July and sign the contract and put some money down, thus providing them a sale for the month and securing our vehicle thats been on order since December. They did not run my credit at that time and I went out on a limb for them so they could get a sale and we could keep the car until the mortgage refi closed.

Now on to the poor experience, yours may differ here but this was ours so buyer beware. I regret to report that although they sell at MSRP, finance was a mess. There are no forced dealer packages or warranties although they do try to sell you a $299 oil change package and extended warranty comparable to KIA of Muncies but was like $1,900 iirc. I decided to decline everything.

I was told that there are no KIA incentives right now or low special financing. This is obviously false from our resources here and with a basic Google search. Initially the rate I was quoted to finance was 4.9% thru KIA and 4.74% thru dealer's lender, with my top tier credit!!! 😳 I'd still get the $500 rebate for financing with the dealer, even with their preferred lender TD auto for some odd reason tho (first red flag.) If those rates weren't bad enough, when we went to finalize the sale today they removed the $500 rebate that I had already signed on the last sales contract in July. Wtf?! But dont worry, my rate today was 4.49% 🙄 Needless to say it worked out in my favor with some angry encouragement and the $500 was put back on the sales agreement. I was blown away and couldn't believe I was being lied to right to my face, over $500 measly bucks and 8 months of waiting.

I mean since we ordered last year, between the price increases and reduction in KIA bonus cash, this vehicle is costing us almost $1,500 more and all the while this was going on this spring we were told we'd be "taken care of" in regard to the original msrp. Yea I can tell we were taken care of, I had to fight a few weeks ago for two free lousy oil changes. I thought when you bought a new car you received complimentary things in return? Not here apparently. First new car purchase for us, probably the last. This was really a sleazy thing that happened today but its over and the car is ours now. Looking forward to enjoying it!!

Lesson to everyone, get everything in writing! Luckily there was an old dealer worksheet available from a few weeks ago that got the $500 credit back on the sales contract today but we had nothing in writing with regard to our original msrp from time of order so we paid today's msrp. When the vehicle came in few weeks back sales manager said take it or leave it. Wow
If you'd like to buy here, and I still think you should so long as you're an informed consumer, ask for Ryen S. He was good and cares about his job. Not all of this was his fault. 👍

Edit: forgot to mention trade in value was low compared to others and they do allow up to $5000 be put down on a credit card if you have a rewards or cash back card

Seems like you had a lot going on. For them to hold a vehicle for three weeks, down to the $500 issue. I too am waiting on a vehicle from them. My salesperson is Ivy. I hope things go a bit more smoothly.

Just be prepared man. Forgot to mention the trade-in value was god awful and non-negotiable so we kept it as well and put more down from savings. This was not a great experience to close this deal by any means.
We met Ivy yesterday. She seemed nice. Her and a few other salespeople told us it was difficult not to sell ours sitting out there like that for 3 weeks as you could imagine. Lol One guy offered "all cash" for it supposedly, but they held firm, it didn't move from the parking space after I signed the initial sales contract in July. Only bright side to my experience with them, and our saleman doing his best to keep the peace. Knowledgeable passionate guy

Thanks to failcat I found a SX Telluride allocated to Planet Kia in Blakely PA with my specs. I called and them and to my surprise the car was available. As a bonus, they charge MSRP. Doc fees were reasonable. Had a trade in and gave me fair price. Put a deposit down and went there to purchase expecting some sort of game playing. To my surprise no games, straight forward and honest sales guys. Couldn’t of asked for more. Thanks Troy for a great experience!!! Highly recommend them!!!

I'm sure it sitting out there was just like chum in the water.🤣🤣

Lately, this seems to be the new gotcha with KIA financing rate not being honored. Shame on those greedy bastards at Hendrick. I will never recommend them due to this shady practice. And you are being to nice by putting them in the Good Dealership category. Did your bank not offer lower rates than the bastards at Hendrick?

Lol. I assure you my rage runs deeper than my review. I should be reporting them to BBB or NC Dept of Commerce for altering a signed document. Greed is a sob. I calculated the difference between the higher interest rate with $500 rebate vs the lower rate and recinded $500 rebate they tried to pass, it was a total of $319 for the term of the loan. WOW
Yes my CU's rate is a full 2% lower. Will update after its completed.

Generally positive experience with Island Kia (Staten Island) in NYC area.

I was able to snag an EX - non Premium as my wife and I wanted the bench seats - on a relatively tight window at what I thought was a reasonable markup to MSRP. Love my new car and felt that 'vanilla' EX trims were relatively rare. Communication with the dealer wasn't exactly A+, but it was a relatively pain free experience without added fees, they were honest on the value of my trade in (I went elsewhere), etc. Can provide a referral if anyone needs.

Having read some horror stories here and elsewhere about markups I was prepared for the worst. If I had time to put in an order I probably would've gone with Nutley as they offered MSRP and seem to be well regarded here - they did a good job letting me know what models they had coming in

I ordered my SXP today from Huffines Kia McKinney (TX).

No BS. No mark-up. No dealer add-ons. No pressure.

Talk to Kevin Woessner.

Good to see you placed your order and moving forward with Telluride. I remember when you started the journey last March and we visited at the Plano store.. Curious to what Mckinney said wait time is for Prestige

3-4+ months.

Not too concerned about the wait. I was also in touch with Huffines Corinth (and originally planned to order there), but they kept telling me ordering wasn’t open yet. Snooze you lose.

The painless experience, MSRP, and a dealer closer to my home that I can trust are all factors on where I chose to buy from.

Guys I can't say enough good things about Whites Mountain Kia in Casper Wyoming. If you are in the region or even willing to fly in to Casper it's worth it. As mentioned, they are an MSRP dealer with no hidden fees or shady sales tactics. This was the easiest vehicle purchase I have ever done. If that wasn't enough Victoria (sales) and Jeremy (sales manager) went above and beyond. A simple mistake was made and they owned up to it and made it right. If that wasn't enough, they just drove 3 hours to meet me on a Sunday to finish the transaction. Yes, you heard that right that they met me halfway and drove my trade-in back on a Sunday. I am beyond blown away with how Whites does customer service. They aren't a high volume dealer and don't have a huge waiting list (it was 2 the last I heard) so it may be a good option. Give them a shot and I promise you will be taken care of like we both were.
