Hendrick KIA of Cary (could we start a mediocre dealer thread?)
I will begin by saying this review is here and not in the "bad dealer" thread because they really helped us out the past few weeks while we completed a mortgage refinance (started it back in May and was a fiasco not to close back in June like promised) and could not take immediate delivery. They kept their word, didn't test drive it with anybody and didn't sell it out from under us in nearly three weeks. So props there. I did however go in before the "end of the month" of July and sign the contract and put some money down, thus providing them a sale for the month and securing our vehicle thats been on order since December. They did not run my credit at that time and I went out on a limb for them so they could get a sale and we could keep the car until the mortgage refi closed.
Now on to the poor experience, yours may differ here but this was ours so buyer beware. I regret to report that although they sell at MSRP, finance was a mess. There are no forced dealer packages or warranties although they do try to sell you a $299 oil change package and extended warranty comparable to KIA of Muncies but was like $1,900 iirc. I decided to decline everything.
I was told that there are no KIA incentives right now or low special financing. This is obviously false from our resources here and with a basic Google search. Initially the rate I was quoted to finance was 4.9% thru KIA and 4.74% thru dealer's lender, with my top tier credit!!!

I'd still get the $500 rebate for financing with the dealer, even with their preferred lender TD auto for some odd reason tho (first red flag.) If those rates weren't bad enough, when we went to finalize the sale today they removed the $500 rebate that I had already signed on the last sales contract in July. Wtf?! But dont worry, my rate today was 4.49%

Needless to say it worked out in my favor with some angry encouragement and the $500 was put back on the sales agreement. I was blown away and couldn't believe I was being lied to right to my face, over $500 measly bucks and 8 months of waiting.
I mean since we ordered last year, between the price increases and reduction in KIA bonus cash, this vehicle is costing us almost $1,500 more and all the while this was going on this spring we were told we'd be "taken care of" in regard to the original msrp. Yea I can tell we were taken care of, I had to fight a few weeks ago for two free lousy oil changes. I thought when you bought a new car you received complimentary things in return? Not here apparently. First new car purchase for us, probably the last. This was really a sleazy thing that happened today but its over and the car is ours now. Looking forward to enjoying it!!
Lesson to everyone, get everything in writing! Luckily there was an old dealer worksheet available from a few weeks ago that got the $500 credit back on the sales contract today but we had nothing in writing with regard to our original msrp from time of order so we paid today's msrp. When the vehicle came in few weeks back sales manager said take it or leave it. Wow
If you'd like to buy here, and I still think you should so long as you're an informed consumer, ask for Ryen S. He was good and cares about his job. Not all of this was his fault.
Edit: forgot to mention trade in value was low compared to others and they do allow up to $5000 be put down on a credit card if you have a rewards or cash back card
