Order to delivery time

Don’t want to get your hopes up but you must be getting this earlier than your last ETA! 👍🏻
We will see. It now exists so the worry about another plant shutdown, slowdown or another big delay are behind me. That feels good.

An interesting tidbit, when I ordered my first car, the ETA was dead on. The day (I'm guessing) my car was built, there was another one identical to mine built 35 numbers ahead of mine for the same dealer. That car showed up a week before mine. They both beat a couple of cars that were produced ahead of them.

Would be interesting to know the logistics of transport for these things.

Same. I'd love to know the logistics, especially since mine is due this Saturday (and I'll be out of town!) I'm really hoping that it comes a few days early and then I can take it on my camping trip. This is the longest week of my life.

ETA 09-10 to Moritz Hurst

@StephenCantrelle thanks again for looking up VIN # 5XYP24HC1MG107184... I didn't know you could also check the customer's name assigned.. would you mind confirming if in this particular case the first name is something like "Ca____" ?, I'd really appreciate it!

When did you actually put your order in at the dealer?

Looks like it wasn't actually ordered until August 5th.
The car was built on August 4th.
I ordered in mid February. Was told about 4 months. Then, Covid hit. Heard nothing from dealership or salesperson *see my earlier post about trying to contact salesperson who at the time didn't have voicemail.* I went by there in late June and was told that my order had been converted to a 2021. No eta at that time. Checked the VIN web site every morning. The salesperson texted me August 4 and told me that I had received a VIN. ETA of 8/23 (last Sunday.) The car showed up on the failcat vin website on August 5th. I noticed other August creation dates were being pushed back due to transportation issues. I had heard nothing from salesperson and went by dealership and was told 9/5 by a "manager." Nothing from salesperson. Then, I later contact Mr. @StephenCantrelle and he responded with the 9/1 date. From what I've seen on here, that date could still move up or back. Nothing for sure until truck arrives with the vehicle.

If you are gone when your Telly is delivered, do they just park it in a garage until you can pick it up? I’d be concerned the dealership uses it for test drives

I wasn't worried about that until now, thanks for that. One more thing to add to list of anxieties regarding this car purchase...

A good dealer should hold it for you and not allow test drives. My salesman, @StephenCantrelle keeps incoming sold units hidden away until you show up to take delivery.

I have been checking this forum on a daily basis. It has been crazy and a little frustrating everyone has been having varying times of ordering a Telluride and then actually receiving the SUV. I ordered mine back on 7-31. I got great news yesterday from my salesman that my order has been processed by KIA. He told me I had an ETA of 10-10. I found this very surprising but I am crossing my fingers about it. I know many people had their ETAs delayed. Thank you everyone for sharing their experiences. We are all in this together!

Sounds about right. Good luck man!

Welcome to the 10-10 club!

I think it would be a bad look for a dealer if your custom ordered car had more than like 10 miles on it. I don't think many dealers would do that unless their intention from the get go was to sell your car to the highest bidder when it showed up.

My local dealer once let me sit in a sold order before it was inspected and cleaned. (Early in my shopping process and pre covid) I was certainly respectful of the fact that it was somebody's car and didn't overstay my welcome. I'd have no problem if a few people were to sneak peeks at my car before it was processed since they need to clean it anyway. I wouldn't want 50 people in it or for it to be driven though. That would be excessive.

I'm happy for you, however this is what frustrates me about this process. I ordered a SXP w/tow back in January and my latest ETA is 10/27. How is it that someone that ordered 6.5 months after of me has an ETA 17 days sooner than me. There is something seriously wrong with the process. And my order was accepted into KFOS before you even submitted yours! @StephenCantrelle do you know if they are prioritizing Nightfall Prestige builds ahead of regular SX Prestige builds?

For comparison...here are his order ETA dates with his trim - compared to mine in my signature:
2021 SX AWD N/T/P - Gravity Gray/Gray Nappa
Ordered 7-30
Entered into KFOS - 8-25
ETA 10-10

This just doesn't make any sense.

I’m digging the communication with this dealer

I seem to be of the slim few that has a date that Slips left

Agreed on both points. Given the number of bad dealer experiences shared in this forum coupled with a lengthy wait time, I’d definitely align with my dealer and set expectations. It’d give me anxiety to not know this if I wasn’t available on delivery day

Who is your dealer / Salesman?

Amazing, my ETA just pushed back 12 days!

Considering you ordered 15 days before me and have an ETA 35 days sooner than me for the same trim - you are having better luck than me...even with this latest change. When I see that KIA has built 338 NF Prestige trims - it just bugs me to no end that those are trims that didn't exist when our cars were ordered yet customers are getting those Prestige trims before us.
