• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 update 1 Available

I successfully updated our 2021 EXP tonight. I did the quick update (thanks to @ksyrah for your full update horror story!), and it took about 30 minutes. The vehicle came from the factory with NAM.12.47.44.510.205.3, and is now at NAM.13.47.44.680.201. I haven't had time to explore much since the update, but I was able to turn on split screen in Android Auto, and have noticed some differences in the map controls. I'm also now seeing traffic alerts in my area for the first time.
so where do you go to do the update. I've a two weeks left for Telly. Just want to be ready. help

I've searched for an answer to this but haven't seen a hit (sorry if I missed it)...how to manage the update if you only have a Chromebook and Android phones? That is, my household no longer has PCs or Macs and I'm not a bit frugal, and DIY, by nature so not thrilled about buying an overpriced USB thumb drive from Kia for a one-time usage. In a perfect world, I'd be able to download the ready-to-go update file directly to my own USB drive and then plug into my vehicle. Thanks for your help!

Got a friend with a PC or Mac? Otherwise your dealer should be able to do it or maybe someone here will host the files for you to download.

So to be clear, if you have a 2021 Telluride, should you select the 2020 > Telluride option on their site or the 2021 > Seltos options?

I selected General Updates and 1 hour in, still on page 1/5? Yikes.

Unfortunately, others have reported the process takes several hours if you don't select the quick update option.

I did not see a list or reason to do one or the other. The manual on the map site said quick is fine and up to 50 or 60 min. Definitely 2.5 to 3 hours for general ;)

has anybody performed the update with an expired UVO subscription yet? Wondering if the forca weather and traffic data works without a paid subscription.

I purchased what I think was the updated 14.0 USB drive (mapsoft.com), this was when the USB site reopened in July. See below for versions after that update.

Then Tuesday this week I downloaded the most recent update (update.kia.com), loaded the files onto the USB drive and attempted to do the update. It said I already have the same versions loaded, and asked if I wanted to do update anyways, so I aborted.

So I am not sure if I messed up something during the download or if in fact I have the latest versions from the USB drive I bought in July. Maybe I will try again tomorrow and see what is up, perhaps I am not remembering things correctly.

I also had done the 14.0 update earlier this summer, so my version numbers were the same as above. When I went to install the new 14.5 update, it also said, "This version of the update is already installed. Continue the update?" Oddly enough, the software version mentioned on screen with that question was the new software and a slightly different version than what I already had. I proceeded with the update (the "quick" version 😉), and these were the resulting changes:

SW ver.
OLD ON.USA.S5W_M.V004.001.200324
NEW ON.USA.S5W_M.V004.001.200702

Firmware ver.
OLD ON.USA.301.200316.MICOM.D
NEW ON.USA.301.200316.MICOM.D

Nav App ver.
OLD STD5W.NAM.KMC.200319.168fa330
NEW STD5W.NAM.KMC.200319.168fa330

Map ver.
OLD NAM.13.41.42.660.202
NEW NAM.13.47.44.680.201

As noted in the changelog, this version contains solely map updates, so it makes sense that most of it is identical to the prior release.

Yes. However, I can't vouch for traffic. But, the new weather functionality would not activate prior to renewing my subscription.

Good info. I'm at v14.0. Doesn't seem like there's a major reason to upgrade to v14.5.

...unless you have a 2021. This changed out the firmware on mine and I have other options available to me regarding Android Auto (such as split screen). Your comment may apply soley to 2020's but for those with 2021's, go ahead and get it done.

Does anyone know how UVO traffic data compares to Waze app?

2020’s also receive the same benefit. The only people saying it isn’t worth it to go to v14.5 are the people who have manually updated to v14 from v13. It seems like all 2020 and 2021 units have shipped thus far since the very beginning have been delivered with v13 or lower.
