• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 update 1 Available

...unless you have a 2021. This changed out the firmware on mine and I have other options available to me regarding Android Auto (such as split screen). Your comment may apply soley to 2020's but for those with 2021's, go ahead and get it done.
That’s what I told you three days ago! 😊

My most recent post was in response to someone who had done the 14 update.
New version is out now at mapnsoft.com.

Looks like this time it is a 100% maps update, so if you updated earlier this year, it probably isn’t worth the trouble.

But if you are someone who hasn’t updated yet, or have a new 2021 that is rocking the old software, go get it and get your split screen Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and some other updates!
I’m willing to bet ordering/downloading the 2020 model update for your 2021 will result in the same outcome. There cannot be any real difference in the head units between the model years.

But of course I won’t guarantee that... 😉 and I don’t have a 2021 to try myself.

Bottom line, if it’s still not clear:

If you’ve never updated your Telluride before, you have at best 13.5. You probably want this update. In addition to the new maps, you’ll get split screen functionality for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with other small software updates.

If you updated to 14.0 earlier this year, you most likely don’t need it. Update only if you really want to make sure every map is as accurate as possible, because the differences from 14.0 > 14.5 are only in the maps themselves.

We can't answer back a SMS anymore unless the car is on park. This is so ridiculous. You can play with radio/gps, etc. but can't do a simple "OK" option or "BE THERE IN 5 MINUTES" and hit SEND.
What's the purpose of this feature if you can't use it while driving. Better to park and use your phone then. I loved this update so far but this thing makes me regret upgrading.

Also, you can't search an address while driving but what if the passenger try to search.. ridiculous

Did you try to use these features with the voice system? Most new vehicles will not allow manual search with the screen while driving as a safety feature. But, most of these vehicles have voice recognition systems which will do those tasks while driving.

Does anyone know how UVO traffic data compares to Waze app?
Waze and UVO are Apples / Oranges. There is no social media element to UVO. It's simply color coded traffic volume / rerouting / and detailed listing of incidents. Waze is 10X more immersive.

Thanks, Waze traffic data has been very hit or miss in my area lately but the speed trap warnings are GOLD

I don't know if it's available everywhere either but Google Maps does have "Waze" like features as well. I get speed trap information right in Maps, have for months. Am I missing out on something with Waze?

GOOGLE purchased Waze, so . . .

I did the quick update today on my 2021 and it only took about 25 minutes

I updated my 2020 for the first time and now entering a destination is different! It took me a good five minutes to figure out that I had to use the voice button on steering wheel to entering in a destination. Am I missing something here? When I go to "Places" it will only let me go by categories.

edit:
Just to be clear, when I click places it asks me for a category name when using voice. I tried entering a home address manually through keyboard but it could not be found. Previously I did not have to push the Speak button steering wheel. Is this the only way now?

I have done the update.
I have got my weather back.
Previous version used HD radio data.
Seems they changed it back like the previous previous version.

Update is easy:
1-Go on the website.
2-Download and install software after choosing your car.
3-With the software, upload the data to an 32GB usb drive.
4-Put the car to ON.
5-Plug the usb drive and answer yes at the prompt screen(auto-screen pop-up when usb plugged).
6-Wait for the map update and return later for the software update.

Going to give it a try. I wonder why this newest update is only 19GB when version 14 was like 50GB.

It's actually about 27GB. It downloads more files after the initial install. Did the rough math looking at the files on my USB drive.....

Not seeing the setting for Android Auto split screen? Can anyone take a photo on how/what is needed to enable after the new update?

Go into the settings in the car for Android auto. See my exact same question and replies a few pages back, post #328.

Thanks!

For others, you go to Setup > Device Connections and select Android Auto > Split Screen.

Note: you must have your phone unused before making this change.

Thanks to everyone that contributed to this update! I finally got some time today to update mine.

Here's what version I started with 👇

After the "Quick update" (appox 20-25 mins)...here's what I ended up with 👇

Besides the options for split screens on Andoid/Apple..... the "sounds of nature" was a nice addition.
Note that this will not be good for me on those long drives

Uhhh...yeah definitely not a good idea while driving those are sounds to sleep by. I'm struggling to come up with a good reason for them to even add this at all...
