Will you take a look at 5XYP5DHC9MG105111 and see if there has been any update in the system. My sweet financing deal is about expire and the rates have gone up. I have to take delivery by 9/4

Question - The lease is up on my Alfa Giulia in June and I’d like to time an SX-P NF to be delivered perhaps in May. My preferred dealer said to order now as it will be 6-8 months and if I wait until Oct or Nov I could fall further behind. Had a local dealer say to wait until Feb, although I wouldn’t order from them given their ADM.

Anyhow, what has all of your experience shown? Thanks!

We ordered a Gravity Gray SX Prestige with tow package on 3/9. Order was accepted by the factory 3/14. Estimate given was 5-7 weeks. No VIN available yet.

How do you know when the factory has accepted the order? I ordered an SX Prestige Package on 4/9. I had to call just a little over two weeks ago (August 14th) to ask what the order status was and was told it hasn't even gone to the factory and that I'm 20th in line. I feel like I'm getting jerked around.

I got into KFOS in July between 7/15 and 7/21 when I received my first ETA.

I am totally new to this and wanted to know how you know you're in the KFOS? I ordered my Telly on April 9th. I called in to change my order in July to add the nightfall and new color. I was told I would not lose my place in the production list. But now I'm not sure if they were being honest with me. Uggg!

Actually - KIA is currently screwing over folks that have been waiting much longer than you to prioritize Nightfall orders - so you will probably get yours before many on this forum that have been waiting as long as late 2019 and early 2020.

In all seriousness - KFOS opens for orders the middle of each month. Most dealerships have a waiting list for the monthly order window. The prioritization I am referring to above has been happening after it gets in KFOS - not before. Once it is in KFOS your dealership will give you an ETA for delivery that is assigned by KIA corporate. You can see my signature below for my timeline for my January order. A good salesman like mine (@StephenCantrelle ) should communicate with you regularly on the progress. But many do not - you have to call and ask them.

You usually get an estimated delivery date when it is entered into KFOS. That's how you know. You have stated before that you were 20th in the list. Depending on that dealers allocations, it could be quite a while. Just because it is taking longer than you hoped doesn't mean that they are not being honest with you.

It's so tough to know when an ordered car may show up. There are so many variables.

You may want to just pass on the order process all together and try to locate one once you get closer to June. I think you'd have to be extremely lucky to time this out perfectly no matter when you order.

If you can order one with a refundable or no deposit, you would have the flexibility to take or pass on that one depending on when it comes and what your situation is. We're talking 10 months out. Pricing and availability could be better, it could be worse.

Depending on the production rate as of now it is surely 3-4 months wait at least, with only few exceptions. However, with Prestige the wait time can be longer. If you want yours as a custom order give it at least 4 months time. Also, your color option will matter in the wait time.

It’s $1000 refundable.

That's kinda high but I've noticed that they can be a little higher in some areas than others. I ordered one in Feb, they didn't require a deposit, I passed on that one for an incoming 2021 and the deposit was $500 on that one. But, if you're happy with that dealer and you can stand to be separated from that $1000 for a while, wouldn't hurt to order one if you're comfortable with it. You've definitely got options at this point.

Some people on here order and end up waiting +/- 10 months and some people just trip and fall over the one they're looking for.
