• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So....one picture shows the way I have maintained the beauty of my black copper Telly since I got it last November.....the other two pics show what happens when you go off to your summer home in the hills of Vermont and stay there for over 2 months!! Something like 40% of all roads in Vermont are dirt and just to get to our place is a 3 mile run on dirt/mud. Very few car washes exist up there ( except in the more urban world of Burilington) mainly because it's a waste of money to wash your car! So I did not wash the car for two months.....now back in Pa. I have spent two days on the project and am almost back to the original look!! A few more hours on the exterior and then some time on the interior and it will be back to what it looked like in the first pic!! ( good thing I like car cleaning!🤣)

I also love car cleaning, but don’t always have time to detail to my standards. 😿

Curious, how did it handle on the Vermont roads? Have you driven those roads during the winter yet? Thanks in advance.

Looks like you added sidesteps. They look good how do you like them? Did the dealer install or did you?

Dealer installed....they are very good quality and provide just the right amount of "step" for folks to get in the vehicle! I kind of "brutalized" them with all the mud, but they have cleaned up nicely!!

I try to do quick detailer spray weekly in between washes and I always see streaks from my door handles after it rains. Anybody dealing with the same thing? Im guessing it’s our dirty hands opening the doors and then the rain washes onto the paint. Drives me crazy when I see it.

That's what I wanted to know. You brutalized them and they still look great. So I tried to order them on mine (still waiting) and I don't think the order went in that way. Sometimes my wife needs a little boost getting in an SUV and my grandkids will certainly use them. If the dealership screwed up my order then maybe I can get them installed for a better price. Oh wait, this is a Telluride we are talking about. No price break on this. LOL

I hand wash my two vehicles. Cleaned my black copper yesterday after driving in the rain for three days. It took me 2.5 hours on just the exterior. The black wheels and the plastic are not easy to clean. I can understand Blitt posting it took him two days to get his back to normal. I do use Meguiar's hybrid spray wax which takes two rinses, wash, rinse, apply and rinse again. I am switching to turtle wax hybrid because it takes one rinse then apply. I was surprised, the ceramic spray waxes work very well. After seeing what the rain did, not looking forward to the snow and salt here.

Remember, "keeping a black car clean isn't a chore, it's a job."

Although I'm finding the Moss is just about as bad..
