What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I just ordered a 2021 EX in Dark Moss with Black Interior, AWD, Tow Package, Premium Package, Nightfall Package + carpeted floor mats (no other add ons as I'm sure I'll be able to get many things like mud flaps, cargo nets, etc., eventually via aftermarket for a lot less. I called a lot of places and most wanted around $1,900-$2,000 ABOVE MSRP for what I wanted. The dealer in Santa Fe wanted $1900+ and would not budge. Based on a recommendation I saw here, I contacted Plano Kia in Plano Texas and settled on MSRP + destination costs BUT, when I mentioned I'm retired military, they knocked off $400! (Hey, it may not be a lot, but I'll take it).

Anyway, MSRP is $43385 plus $1170 for destination charges = $44555. I'm getting $400 off that for military discount, so net cost is $44,155. Of course there is the standard couple of hundred in Doc fees, etc, but that's always the case. Since I'm buying it in Texas and I live in New Mexico, I will pay the taxes when I register it here in New Mexico (4% sales tax = $1782).

The good news is, I found a place that will order exactly what I want and I'm at least getting "some" discount off of MSRP.
The bad news is, it will probably take 2-3 months to get it (guessing?)

One thing I learned in this exercise - this car is selling like hot cakes and the dealers know that they don't really have to deal much.

Congrats on your deal. And thanks for your service as well.

Just ordered ours this Monday (Aug. 31, 2020)! Gravity Gray SXP w/Nightfall & Dune Brown Interior (the only accessory we added was a Folding Cargo Tray). Paying $47,770 ($1,200 under MSRP with Costco discount) from Kia of Muncie. Now we just wait 8-12 months and we have a brand-new Telluride

You may end up with a 2022 model 😂

Haha, we tried to order very early in the 2021 model year to avoid our order getting year-switched (like has happened to so many others here), but whatever happens, happens. Is this long a wait for an SXP w/ Nightfall normal or just a Kia of Muncie thing because they're so heckin' busy selling below MSRP?

Kia of Muncie participate in Costco Auto Program which gives discount off MSRP. Obviously this is very unusual in the current market so they have a LOT of orders.

Ah, so this long of a wait IS unique to Kia of Muncie?

Ignoring previous history (COVID delays etc) I’d say yes, particularly for a NF.

Yeah, our Costco in SoCal can't find a dealer in the system willing to price negotiate, so you're a fortunate guy.

Haha, I'm a guy from Virginia who's willing to make a road trip with my wife to take advantage of Kia of Muncie's willingness to use Costco pricing. Nobody near me when searching in my area does Costco pricing, either.

Also Vincent is going to pick him up from the airport! But yes so excited! The prices here in Southern California are more than we wanted to pay. I hope you find one soon! Take the time to find exactly what you want and know what you are willing to pay for it. From what I hear it will be worth it!
Congratulations! We also live in So Cal and just gave Vincent a deposit for ours. Have you picked yours up yet? Was it there when Vincent anticipated?

ROAD TRIP!!!
Nothing wrong with driving your new car cross country to learn to enjoy it. It will give you time to play with the level 2 SDC. Still always fun for me after owning for a year.

I paid a similar price as Dschneider on Saturday. It's a 2021 SX Nightfall Black and had everything on it except the Prestige package, tow kit and roof rack. I paid $47800 and while they wouldn't negotiate on price it was at the MSRP. I got the 500 deduction for financing via Kia, and they agreed to add the roof rack for no cost. I was also given really good terms on my trade-in, more than I was anticipating to be honest. This was at a dealer in central (Harrisburg/Lancaster area) PA and most here seem to be selling at MSRP based on my most recent experience even though they're flying off the lots same as elsewhere.

I'm in that area and can't find one for msrp. What dealer?

Can't wait, it sure beats an old Ford Explorer Sport hahaha

Not to take away from your happiness, because you have it and are driving it (i don’t have mine yet) but I paid that for my vehicle also in the ATL Metro area.

i am hung up on the doc fee and the trade in appraisal though.

Such is life. Today, your wallet took a beating. Tomorrow, you’re smarter and more informed. You learn and move on.

I’m excited to hear that you are a proud owner and won the fiancée over with the Telly. Consider this: it could have gone two ways - either you'd come out as stronger husband material or she could have given the ring back. Count it is a win
I have been looking for the right deal for 6 months. Every dealer was charging 3k initally..now 10k over sticker..until I found the golden nugget. I found an SX Prestige Moss Brown with Dune interior at Sticker. I was amazed..I immediately signed the buyers order. And then I drove to the dealership who was charging 10k over. The vehicle is amazing. I prefer the Moss Prestige over Night Fall. I dont really like the night falls rims. However for some reason it looks the best(night fall) with gravity gray. My dealer says they dont do mark ups.

Hi everyone, I’m looking to buy a Telluride and from what I’ve read here, people are fortunate when they pay MSRP. I’ve found a dealer that says they’ll do MSRP, but they did mention a destination charge of $1,170.

My two questions: is destination considered paying MSRP or is that a mark up if you order the Telluride (as opposed to getting one right off the lot)? Also, are people here having luck not paying destination?
