  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

@aoverby0907 the “partial vin” is not a real vin but a internal number. Within literally the last hour a ton of SX models just got assigned to dealerships. You will get assign the vin when they start production on your Telluride.

I’m so excited I just had my regional manager leave my store.. I am having 6 custom orders about to be filled. I think 4 are my personal clients.

Finally a breakthrough in the waiting game. So excited!

So does the internal number that has been assigned mean that it has been assigned to my dealership and will start production soon? Hearing your info gives me hope that maybe what I was told is legit!

Can you tell us the order date for those orders? God I wish I lived hear a dealership like yours.

For what it’s worth, my dealer got an email from Kia today saying all pending orders would be filled (meaning a build date would be assigned) within 30-45 days. After that , production is usually 2-3 weeks. New orders will be 3-4 months.

@Gwyn the order that I just had filled was placed first week of March. ETA is 5-26

Absolutely! 100%... basically you are down to a 30-40 day wait.. congrats 🎉🎊🎈!!!

It's good to have you on here Stephen. It's nice to get your dealer perspective and info on all these questions. Sounds like the production bottleneck is starting to loosen up now. I'm sure it's been as frustrating to you as a dealer as it has been to us as customers. The Telluride is going to be a Big Success, imo, and it will be nice to have special orders filled and different models available to view and drive at dealerships soon. The "S" (with captains) and SX in particular have been in very short supply, as you know. I would like to see a SX in "Copper Black" in person but there aren't any to be found. Hopefully May will be the breakthrough month that we're all hoping for, customers and dealers alike.

Happy to help. It goes full circle. I have 3 clients I met on here so far.. thank you all for your patience with the order system and the bottleneck with demand..

And yes, the Telluride is a homerun and will be killing it for years to come while everyone rushes to match looks and bang for dollar.... just in time for us to redesign and blow past them again.

We ordered a Black Copper SX Prestige with Dune Brown and Tow package on 3/9. Dealer said he would be contacting me three times. Once when the order is accepted, Once when it was completed, and once when it arrived at the dealership. We were originally told to anticipate 10 weeks due to the color and options we had ordered. We have not heard anything yet from our dealership.

Great news. Just heard from the dealer that our vehicle was allocated.

When did hey say you would get this? That is the exact build I want too!

Well, after all of the planning and waiting, we test drove the SX for four days and decided not to purchase. The seat wasn't comfortable for my wife. Made someone else's day though. Looks like a 2019 X5 for us.

Wishing you all the best!

I thought I deserved a new vehicle...last one was a 1992 Chevy truck and still drive it. About a week ago I pulled the trigger on a 2020 Telluride SX with Prestige Package and Tow. It is ordered and I was told the Ga. plant should have it built in about 3 months. I ordered it loaded so now I may have to learn how to drive one LOL. I test drove an EX and I asked if there were any SX models like I want at ANY Dealership. Was told this... In the config I ordered, they would not be at a dealership and the only ones to get them were through orders from customers. That being said I think I will have the only one in my area when it arrives. My Dealership received 15 Tellurides of various models/colors and over half were sold in less than a week. It does appear to be a very hot item.
