Total volume has also increased each month, so even though percentage is increasing for NFP, the total volume of SXP is also increasing. That's still a plus.It is going to be interesting to see what happens next week when production ramps back up after the holiday...but as you can see below - the total % of NFP to SXP has increased every month.

I totally agree...I am not a fan of the Night Fall Edition...I was very fortunate. I picked up an SX Prestige 2021.Dark Moss with Dune interior a week ago. I check the dealerships 24/7. It rolled off the truck and into my driveway at MSRP..with a $500 rebate.2021 SX-P/T Snow White Pearl/ Black
Ordered August 1st, 2020
No new communication from dealer since (not that there is anything to communicate).
When I ordered, the dealer said that they were having supply chain issues around the black wheels that come with the prestige package, and that the nightfall wheels were readily available. Too bad I don't care for the nightfall wheels.
Gorgeous vehicle. I absolutely love the Dark Moss, but have not been able to convince the wife. We both compromised with a Snow White Pearl.I totally agree...I am not a fan of the Night Fall Edition...I was very fortunate. I picked up an SX Prestige 2021.Dark Moss with Dune interior a week ago. Snow white pearl is nice. I was not convinced of Dark Moss...until I went to the dealer...KIA..got it right with this SUV...I have owned Toyota..Lexus..Mercedes...etc...but this one (KIA) is fantastic!!!!Gorgeous vehicle. Let’s hope this is a non nightfall SXP heavy month, seems like their largest number of un-filled sold orders might be non nightfall sxp, I know my dealer has several in front of mine

The Korean manufacturers puzzle me, if your highest priced highest margin product is also the most demanded, why in the world not increase your supply? I mean do they even study economics at all? Ford builds 250,000 explorers a year in a dedicated plant, why be struggling to build 100k tellurides in a shared plant? It’s almost non competitiveVolume may have increased - but still down compared to pre-COVID as a % of total production - despite the factory producing more Tellurides than ever.

Plain and simple...KIA has yet to get back to meeting demand on the SXP. Even when you add in the NFP - total prestige production hasn't returned to pre-COVID levels of the Prestige trims as a percentage of total production. On a phone call a couple of months ago - my dealer @StephenCantrelle wondered if KIA would alter production to help dealers build inventory. While the demand for sold orders is high for SXP trims - that isn't their volume model. The S and EX/EX Premium seem to be where KIA is focusing their efforts which speaks to the dealer inventory theory. @StephenCantrelle has been pretty spot on - so I will give him credit to this theory based upon what we are seeing.
You can see the volume of S and EX/EX Premium in the chart below. All new capacity in the production line KIA promised for the 2021 model year seems to be focused on the Nightfall trim - so with S and EX/EX Premium production up - it appears the prestige trim was the sacrificial lamb. So those of us waiting - will have to wait a little longer.

i think that is a misnomer, I don’t think they planned on selling that many SX/PT units and the margin might be smaller than you think. Adding a 1295 Nightfall package probably helps margins because there is not much cost in the changes of emblems, wheels and etc.
I actually am working to change my order from an SXP to NFP. I had originally ordered in SWP, but after discovering last night that SWP is being replaced by GWP, and seeing the failcat data to back that up, I figured it wasn't going to delay my delivery anymore to change my order completely.
Ended up going with a wolf gray NFP w/ tow. I'll see myself out of the waiting room.![]()

Does anyone here have the actual "inside scoop" on what might be a production kink for the SX-P non-nightfalls? I've been reading along here and lots of dealers telling their customers different things. Maybe one of the nice dealers in this forum can enlighten us if they have some intel from Kia? I have been following failcat and not a single SX-P AWD has been produced in white for as far back as the sorting feature takes me. (late august when the switched the paint from SWP to GWP) That's a long time to have ZERO cars manufactured. Is it really an issue with the Prestige wheels? What gives??
Still nice seeing this many SXPs on a single production day. Looks like the last time they made close to this many was on 8/25.
